How Comparison Shapes Our Lives: A Journey Through Positivity and Negativity

Life is more like a competition with ourselves and than with the other people that we encounter everyday or in workplace, family etc.

Competition is one thing that remains in your life wether you want it or not. There will be always someone who'll think you're their competition, they'll compare everyday life with your life, their everyday achievement with your achievements.

At some point we all have compared ourselves with others and I've noticed this does have an impact that is very strong.

The Consequences of Comparison: Negative and Positive

Most of the time human compare with others in a negative way like if someone is making 6 figure salary and they're making 3 figures.

From this comparison with that person they'll start to become jealous from that guy or even worse thing is they'll hate him for no reason at all.

So this type of comparison does ruin your relationship with other person and it is so negative yet common in our society which is kinda sad.

Positive Side of Comparison

The kind of comparison that can have positive impact on your lifestyle and the way you live is seeing others in your circle having a good daily routine like sleeping on time and than waking up early.

That encourages you to try it and I personally have this one friend in the neighborhood who do gym and have a athletic physique.

So everytime I meet him the guy gives that positive energy from the way he communicate and overall body language.

I even started doing workout just because I was encouraged by him when I compared myself with him.. my body said, I could be that guy and to reach this full potential of yourself.

Sometimes all you've to do is compare yourself with other person.

Comparison is both theft of joy or reason of joy

We've this saying "comparison is a theft of joy" which is only true when you're comparing your salary with other person salary or you car with other person car, your house with other person house which is bigger and better.

So these kind of comparison overall kills your joy and will even put you in depression.. make you take wrong decisions in life.

But when you start comparing yourself the other way around like in my case becoming stronger and having a good physique like the other guy that is something which will help me now and even years later when I'm old.

And there's a clear barrier between joy and sadness, your actions have consequences and the way you think actual leads to those actions.

When we have that positive thinking mind than you'll compare in a way that leads to better results.

Wrapping Up...

In the end it's just life and comparison is also a part of it when we interact with people and see things from different perspectives. It's just a matter of time when you realize how you can become by comparison.

I wonder what's your thoughts on this and will love to know how comparison had impact on your life? Feel free to share it in comments.

Saludos @idksamad78699, excelente tu post , tienes razón la comparación desde el punto de vista positivo, impulsa a mejorar, mientras que desde el punto negativo, te deprime.

Yeah it's just life like you rightly said. And like the popular saying goes, "too much of everything is bad." We should always know where to draw the line.

You shared quite and informative and thoughtful post. Thanks
