Debunking the Myth: Why Gaining Weight Isn't as Easy as It Sounds

I've been trying to increase my weight from quite some time but it's not showing any sign of gain at all. My metabolism isn't letting me gain weight and it seems impossible sometimes.


I'm in good shape but I feel like I need to gain couple of kgs more just for my own satisfaction.

The hardest part of gaining weight isn't exercising but eating food...I can't eat that much and my diet plan is just average.

Furthermore I do exercise regularly at home, there's no gym and I can't travel that far just for the gym so it's better to workout at home.


The Myth: Gaining Weight is Easy than Losing

I see most of people arguing that it's so easy to gain weight but it's difficult to loose and I'm a living example that this myth is just a lie.

I believe losing weight is more easy because you can do exercise to burn fat and by simply not eating food like you do usually.

It's not easy to eat food all the time and let's be real everything is expensive so you know how expensive diet is nowadays.

But both of the opinions "losing weight or gaining weight being easy" makes no sense at all.

Metabolism Play it's Role in both

The reason it doesn't make sense to say losing weight is hard but gaining is easy is because the person who is saying losing weight is hard will have slow metabolism that burns fat at slower rate which makes it difficult to lose weight

But now that other person trying to gain weight with fast metabolism thinks it's easy to lose weight.

Yeah, You've fast metabolism it burns your fat quickly and that's why I'm not gaining weight.


I need about 2650 Calories to Gain Weight

I didn't have any idea how I'm going to calculate how much calories I need in a day but than I realised

We're living in 2024 and we don't need to get a dietician who'll tell us how much calories we need to gain weight because Ai can do that job.

So I asked ChatGPT to tell me exactly that and the way to calculate calories is simple for men, women:

So remember once you find total calories your body needs than add additional 200+300 calories..

Because you're trying to gain weight and body needs more than required one to actually gain something.

After this, I asked for a budget friendly Diet with required calories

I was more stressed about how I'll find a diet in my budget that's not very expensive and than asked chatgpt to make one

It gave me a proper diet from breakfast to lunch and dinner

That covers 2650 calories by the end of the day and it suggested me all local food that wasn't expensive and in my budget.

Like I always do breakfast with Paratha and Chai but didn't knew the calories I was consuming..

Didn't ate boiled eggs or drink milk at breakfast.. so I now knew what's going to be my diet.


Workout at Home is Fun

I used to workout secretly in my room so no one in my family find that out but somehow they found out and my mom actually encourages me to do it regularly.

So you have this benefit at home that they'll cheer you up and also lil brother getting inspired is something I didn't thought about.

Now I need to give myself a proper 6 month boost that will hopefully help me gain weight and become more better physically and mentally because some legend said a healthy mind is in healthy body.


Wrapping Up...

There's no such thing as easy or difficult when it comes to gaining or losing weight, doing exercises and having a diet plan.

It's just about the mindset if you want to achieve the kind of physical strength your body have or you're okay with that being lazy and not doing anything about it.

To stay in a better shape we'll have to do what's necessary and by staying disciplined all the time. It's not toxic at all, it's just self improvement that have long term benefits.

Most people, just like me wants to lose weight, but somehow would not just because of my husband. He loved me the way I'm.
Anyways, carrying out exercise is just to build the body shape.

Few years back, I practically ate everything I come across just to gain weight but I couldn't but eventually I gave up but then I saw people trying so hard to lose weight and I wonder what exactly are we both doing wrong. That is the weird thing about human body, it structure differs. Losing or gaining weight I don't think any of it easy.

Yea, that's just different human body with differ metabolism that's making it difficult for both types of people.

It's not easy at all. Requires lot of efforts and hardwork.
