Cancel Culture: A Tool for Justice or a Platform for Intolerance?

we're living in a time where people can cancel anyone and everything just because your opinion doesn't match with theirs and have different perspectives.

Imagine telling a person who never used technology before that you're cancelled because you did something I didn't liked and that person will react in a way that it's some sort of stupidity.

And nowadays cancel culture on internet is something we should discuss.

The Time When Cancel Culture used to be Better

Back in the days when people on internet were chill and knew how to use it to raise voice used to call out wrong things on internet and than everyone used to cancel until justice was given.

I remember that time people who faced injustice working in a big company or someone in power like government person thinking that no one is superior to him was one step away from getting punished.

Everyone used to be on the same side like trending hashtags on twitter and such social media platforms to cancel that person and apologize openly.

There's so many cases where people have got justice using social media when people did supported that victim by cancelling company/person.

The Toxic Cancel Culture

Nowadays people are soft or have become toxic on internet like canceling someone just because of that person point of view and opinion is different from you.

It happens most of the time with famous content creators who used to share their perspectives on matter and when that opinion doesn't fit well with people than the content creators is getting called out and cancelled.

It is toxic behaviour like everyone have different point of views and opinions. It makes sense to disagree with someone opinion but chasing or forcing that other person to change opinion is just too much that happens every once in a while on internet especially web 2 platforms.

You Get banned easily

Another thing that is changed now is most of the time canceling some famous entity or person could become the reason why you're banned from the platform.

In some cases when cancelling becomes too aggressive than either that person getting cancelled go back into trenches (stay away from internet) or comes ahead and say apologies to give people what they want to hear.

Unnecessary canceling is something I'd say it's better to ban spot on.

Wrapping Up...

This is like a power in hand of people who can abuse it and use it for their own benefits. It should be used to fight for the rights of people on internet and calling out where something wrong is happening to get justice.

We can't just cancel anyone or anything just because of different opinions or something so little even a kid will ignore.

I've always spoken on internet if I see something wrong but canceling someone was very rare when it was necessary or where it made difference.
