Ink Bleeds

Here again with my ink for you,
Trying to capture every part,
of this life we have lived.
Trying to shrink into words,
The peace you give.
Trying to fit my memories,
In the pages of a book,
I can’t seem to name.
Some might say it’s just me in love,
Some may say I’m blinded by it,
But I feel,
It’s somewhere between fear and gratitude.
I am grateful for having experienced,
A love like this in this lifetime.
And I fear that one day,
I might lose all my memories.
So, permit me to pen down this gift,
That you have given me,
So that it’s never truly lost.
In poetry we say,
‘My ink bleeds for you’
In English we say,
‘I love you so much, I’d write you a book’

I really like the sentiment of your poem, and how we have both used words and books in our poems. The metaphor of ink as a medium for capturing love and it's impermanence is lovely. It flows very well and I enjoyed the repetition of lying. It left a lasting impression on me.

Thank you. I do appreciate your thoughtful response. I like the fact that there was some sort of similarity in our poems. I would like to read more of your work. and it was nice having you stop by.

This poem is a beautiful testament to love, memory, and gratitude. The way you capture deep emotions with such raw sincerity makes it incredibly touching. The contrast between fear and appreciation adds depth, making the piece feel both intimate and universal. The closing lines tie it all together perfectly—love so profound it demands to be immortalized in ink. Truly heartfelt and poetic!

Great work!

I do feel most times that the complexity of love should be eased out with clear communication and utmost sincerity. It might be something so vast and diverse and unique to individuals, but for something so widespread, it should have a language understood by all. In this poem, I tried to capture the enormousness of love and an overall appreciation of its gift by those who have found it in one way or the other. Thank you so much for reading through, and thanks for leaving a comment.
