Faith in Humanity

Does seeing the good in people suck? Does it make you a bad judge of character? Or does it make you a fool?

The world is filled with crazy people; you’d be shocked to learn the lengths people are willing to go to just to prove a point or get what they want.

In a world where wicked people win the hearts of the public and our moral standards take a back seat, or a world where evil acts are applauded and deceptive schemes recommended, I choose integrity, dignity, and I choose to believe that not everyone is corrupt or wicked, and I will forever stand by it.

Despite the world being so evil and dangerous, I choose to still see the good in people. I choose to believe that good people still exist in such a world as ours.
I know for a fact that beyond the bitterness and chaos of this world, not everyone is bad or must be treated poorly in the name of not letting your guard down.

When I choose to see the good in people and they live up to my expectations, I’m always glad as it truly proves that not everyone is the same, and people shouldn’t be judged harshly before they are given the opportunity to prove themselves.

People who tend to see the good in people are often seen as being naive or foolish, as the world makes it seem like you’re committing a heinous crime by choosing to believe that Mr. A is not like everyone else.

Call it nativity or foolishness or any other name you deem fit, I see it as a superpower. A superpower that gives people a chance not to be harshly judged or criticized, a superpower that arms you with the ability to treat people fairly as opposed to the current happenings in the world.

As humans, it’s okay to have your reservations about people but very wrong to write them off or treat them badly without getting to know them or them proving themselves.
