Today, I’ll teach you how to create these iconic characters from the legendary Japanese studio Ghibli using moldable foam clay (foam clay): Totoro, Calcifer, and No-Face. Hola!! Buenas Noches familia @diyhub, amantes de los trabajos manuales y artesanías, el día de hoy les enseñaré a realizar con foami moldeable (foam clay) a estos personajes del estudio de animación japonés Ghibli: Totoro, Calcifer y No-face. Espero les guste la creación, a toda la comunidad en general y yo súper contento en presentarles mi experiencia con este material flexible. ¡Acompáñame! 😊

The reference image was found on Pinterest by searching for Ghibli designs. These beloved Japanese characters—created by studios in Tokyo—inspired me to recreate them using foam clay. Growing up, I watched so many of these films, especially Howl’s Moving Castle, and they’ve always brought me joy. I know it’s not much, but this is my way of expressing myself through art.

Me inspire a diseñarlos en arcilla espumosa, pues que en mi infancia veía muchos de estas películas, especialmente 'El Castillo Ambulante' y la verdad son muy entretenidos. Sé que no es mucho, pero es mi manera de expresarme mediante el arte.

In the following I will show you step by step the realization of my work. To begin with, I will mention all the materials used:

Foami moldeable Amarillo / Yellow foam clay

Foami moldeable Rosado / Pink foam clay

Foami moldeable Violeta / Violet foam clay

Foami moldeable Beige / Beige foam clay

Foami moldeable Rojo / Red foam clay

Foami moldeable Naranja / Orange foam clay

Foami moldeable Verde / Green foam clay

STEP/PASO 1

In the initial phase, I start by taking a portion of clay in yellow, orange, black and white colors to make the body of the animated ones. Then, with his hands, he molded them into balls, giving them a curious finish.

En la fase inicial, comienzo tomando una porción de arcilla en colores amarillo, naranja, negro y blanco para realizar el cuerpo de los animados. Luego, con las manos moldeó en forma de bola, dándoles una terminación curiosa.

STEP/PASO 2

Next, I carefully sculpt each part of the figurines—their heads, ears, hands, and even Calcifer’s fiery flames 🔥—always putting my heart into every detail.

Seguidamente, desarrollo las piezas del cuerpo en las figuritas, su cabeza, sus orejas, sus manos y el fuego 🔥 , siempre dando lo mejor de mi.

STEP/PASO 3

Finally, we made the final touches on their faces and eyes, using the colors pink, white, violet and black for the brightness of both. This design is a little more complex, as the parts are smaller when it comes to molding.

Ya por último, realizamos los retoques finales en sus caras y ojos, utilizando los colores rosado, blanco, violeta y negro para el brillo de ambos. Este diseño es un poco más complejo, pues son más pequeñas las partes a la hora de moldear.

It should be noted that this design was searched on Pinterest; but the realization of the animations are made by me, with dedication to make them look more beautiful in your home or bedroom.

Cabe destacar que este diseño fue buscado en Pinterest; pero la realización de los animados son hechos por mí, con dedicación para que luzcan mas bonitos en tu hogar o dormitorio.
