EXTRA TERESTRIAL SUBJECTS - HS #1 [FEMALE]
ETS-0001 HUMANOID SPECIE [ FEMALE ]
π¨THE MATERIALS USED AND THE PROCESS π¨
Materials used:
- Mechanical Pencil
- Sketch Pad
- Eraser
- Polymer pencil lead refill (2B)
- A rolled paper and my index finger as a blending toolπ€£
Process:
So in the process in making this sketch art, some brain juice was first used to imagine our subject for today since we are not using any reference. And as a first ever entry for this art blog series, I'm doing the classic alien look ( like how it was protrayed in our chilhood), big rounded head with big eyes, but ofcourse added my own design. Then as a go through with the sketching, I did some adjustments along the ways, basically just following my guts as imagine how I would want my finished artwork to look like.
The frist thing I do is create a soft of loose sketch forming the structure bit by bit. As you can see in the righthand side of the images above I just gradually input the basic features that I can notice from the reference.
I always draw the face first because it the most difficult for me. By doing this, I do not put myself in a position where I focus all my fresh energy to other parts tha doesnt need more attension than the face. By the way, in the images above you can see thats I added a light shading to the entire page becase it was looking too bright too lik at.
My blending tool (this was taken a while after starting to shade my work because I thought it might by cool to include on my the blog). After blending it all I proceeded with the shading, still face first of course.
As you can see in the images above I finished first the shading of the entireface before proceeding the rest of the sketck. I always put all my focus first in the head of my subject.
I really like how the blending turned out using the rolled paper, it was really easy to use when blending small areas.
The before and after of the rolled paper I used in blending. π€£π€£ You have faught well my little DIY blending tool, your wil never be forgoten!π€£
For the background of this piece, I just did a simple shading that would or hopefully will make my character sunject pop. After that I did some highlighting and darkening of some areas then it was basically done. yey!π
To add more alien vibes on my artwork, I added some filter on the final sketch and then made a collage on it as my final artwork... or do you prefer the raw sketch art the I made?? or do you like both?? or..... I dont know... im confused which to like more actually.π
Either way I hope you liked it guys!πβ€οΈ And thank you so much for taking your time in looking into my blog, until next time, take care ya'll and see ya later!ππ
