Our Adventure in Observing a Baby’s Earliest Days
Hello there my lovely hivers!!!!!

As part of our Developmental Psychology, we had to observe the baby 0-2 weeks old. We went first to the birthing center where my auntie gives birth. Before we came to the birthing center, I chatted first in their page so I can have a go signal that its okay if we could visit there birthing for us to observe a baby. She responded in a friendly way that it was just okay and I also informed her that we also had a formal letter so she would trust us. We were so happy that she allow us to observe the babies on her center.

When I came to their office, I was greeted with the 3 staff and I was asking for their permission if we could observe the baby and thankfully there is a newborn baby. The staff guide us to the room but then the mommy was sleeping so instead of just waiting on the side we decided to go to the nearby hospital.

Before we could enter to the hospital, we should bought a mask for our safety. It cost 5 each and the owner was pissed off while she handed the face mask and its a little bit pricer that I thought.

We asked first to the guards if we could observe the baby's but then he pointed to the office of the head nurse so we could have a permission to observe the baby. We wait for a couple minutes outside of the head nurse office, we hope that it would just an easy process. But she told us, she doesn't had the power to gave us permission.

It was really hot and our sweat was coming off but we didn't have to pause and we continue to go to the 2nd birthing center hoping that we could finally find one. I didn't chat their page and we just came here unannounced. The midwife was really approachable and friendly so I enjoy talking with her. She first told us to came inside since it was really hot. Sadly, there were no babies and we came back to our first choice.

We wait for about a couple of minutes, talking about some things and catch up. We then came to their office if we could now interview the mother and thanks god she's awake and we can now start our observation and some questions to the mother. Their place was spacious and peaceful, theres a separate room for the mothers already giving birth and the place where midwife can relax.
I will share on my next blog on our observation of the baby.
Glad that the first option you decided to interview allowed you in the second time around and the mother was awake.
