As a fan of economy mixed rice, I will always attempt to try any new stalls around. Economy mixed rice is economical as the name says, and extremely on my budget, and will not cause a hole on our pockets. Mixed rice simply means it is rice as main meal and together with dishes like vegetables and protein which you can choose from the variety of choice available on that particular mixed rice shop.

Recently, I found a spectacular one, unlike others which are usually open-concept stall with fans, this one with air-conditioning.

Orange Mix Rice 33 Setapak

This is located at the whole area called Setapak 33. There you will find different types of eateries. This one, attracted me the most.

Ambience

It has such comfortable ambience. Many tables and chairs properly arranged, and not crowded at all, considering they took the corner lots, two shoplots in exact. Proper air-conditioning and ventilation with high ceiling, so the place is good for eating and chatting.

Array of food

You will firstly be amazed by the long array of food. I lost count. I lost count but definitely more than 60 types of dishes. They consist of various type of protein like fish, pork and chicken cook in many different way, various types of vegetables cook in many ways too, tofu, eggs, seafood. So many to choose from. You will be spoilt of choices. ❤️

One remarkable thing is the price is stated on each dish too. For example, one big ladle is how much or how many pieces of chicken is how much and one whole piece of tilapia fish is RM12 (Ringgit Malaysia). Just an example.

Customers will line up from the beginning of line where you will be given a plate of rice, then you will start walking down the food aisle to scoop your desired food. Fun, isn't it? Even this is the favourite spot for my eldest son now. He would ask for it many times in a week because he got to choose his own food and got to pay on his own too.

Beverage

Another great thing about this shop is there is free refillable soup at the back. Usually they boiled radish soup or lotus root soup. Simply joyous stuff for us customers because most of us love to eat mixed rice with bowls of soup.

Customers get free drink too and free Chinese tea. All self-service.

Showing you our plates of mixed rice. These were the mixed rice from me, my husband, my eldest son, my brother and his family. A plate usually costs around RM9-RM12, our range.

I also loved to pack food for our dinner after we had our lunch here.

So far, this is the best mixed rice shop available in our town. It is always packed with people on lunch break, yet you won't feel super crowded or cramped. Really a nice spacious environment to get your lunch fixed at an affordable price. Another perks is if you come at night when they about to close shop, the food will be reduced in price to prevent wastage, as shown at below photo. Good for people who eat their dinner late.
