What love means to me🤗

When Love Isn’t Loud but Still Shows Up

I used to think love had to be big and loud. Like the kind you see in movies, surprise gifts, fancy dinners, dramatic words like “I can’t live without you.” I thought love had to shout to be real.
But over time, life taught me something different.

There was a time I was going through a rough patch. I wasn’t sleeping well. I felt low. I didn’t want to talk much. A lot of people noticed, but only a few really showed they cared. One person stood out. Not because they said anything grand, but because of the small, quiet things they did.

They didn’t flood my phone with messages. They didn’t make me talk when I didn’t feel like it. But they showed up. They would check on me, ask if I've you eaten, or if I would want to go for a walk?” They would send me random songs they thought I’d like, or memes just to make me laugh. Sometimes they just sat with me in silence. No pressure. No pretending. Just presence.
That’s when I started to understand, love doesn’t always have to be loud.

Sometimes love is in the little things. Like remembering your favorite snack. Like noticing when you’re quiet and asking if you’re okay. Like waiting for you to open up instead of forcing you to talk, just being there and doing the little things you can
It’s in people who notice what hurts you, and try not to repeat it.
It’s in someone who listens, not to reply, but to understand.
It’s in the way someone remembers how you like your tea, or how you sleep better with the light off.

Love doesn’t always have to be public or flashy. Sometimes, the realest love is the quietest. It shows up without shouting. It’s steady. It’s gentle. It doesn’t ask for attention, it gives comfort. It may not come with fireworks, but it comes with peace.

Looking back, some of the loudest people in my life left the fastest. But the quiet ones, the ones who didn’t make a show, they stayed. They showed up. Every time.

Now, I no longer look for love that’s loud. I look for love that’s there. The kind that chooses you in the background. The kind that’s soft, but sure. The kind that holds you when the world is heavy. The kind that doesn’t always say “I love you,” but shows it every day.

So if someone checks on you, cares for you in small ways, or stands by you without needing applause, don’t overlook it. That might be the most real kind of love there is.

Because sometimes, love isn’t loud, but it still shows up and that’s more than enough.
