Purpose of existence

Different people see the purpose of life in different ways. Some say it’s to be successful, some say it’s to serve God, some say it’s to love and be loved, and others believe it’s to just live freely and enjoy each moment. But the question remains, Why are we really here? Why are we alive?
Is it to just grow up, chase dreams, make money, get married, have children and then die?
Is there one true purpose that fits everyone, or do we each find our own reason as we grow through life?

There was a time I used to ask myself, Why am I here? What’s the meaning of all this? I didn’t know the answer for a long time. Sometimes I felt like I was just waking up, eating, doing what I had to do, sleeping again, and repeating the same thing every day. It felt like I was just existing, not really living. But with time, I started to see things differently. I started looking at life, not just as something to pass through, but as something to feel, to learn from, and to grow in.

For me, I believe the purpose of existence is more than just surviving. It’s about becoming someone better every day. Life has taught me that I’m not here by mistake. I’m here for a reason, even if I don’t always know what that reason is. Each day I live, I discover a little more about that purpose. Sometimes I discover it in the quiet moments, when I’m alone thinking. Other times, I find it when I help someone, or when someone helps me. I fee they all make life worth it

One thing I’ve come to believe strongly is that love gives life its meaning. Whether it’s love from family, friends, or even strangers, it reminds us that we matter, and that others matter too. When we show kindness or receive it, it makes one feel alive. It makes us feel like our presence on this earth is not wasted. So love can mean a lot. Love brings people together and gives us a reason to keep going. When we try to make others happy or feel cared for, our own lives become more meaningful too.

Faith also plays a big role in how I see existence. I believe that God created us on purpose. He didn’t just throw us here to figure things out on our own. He watches, He guides, and He loves us. This belief alone gives me peace, even when life gets hard. It helps me know that there is more to life than what I can see right now. I am here to serve, to give, and to reflect the kind of love God has shown me. That doesn’t mean I’m perfect, but it means I try. I try to live in a way that pleases God, and also brings light to others.

But life isn’t always about serious things. I’ve also come to understand that part of existing is simply experiencing life, the fun, the pain, the confusion, the peace, the wins, and the losses. Every part of it teaches something. When I fall, I learn how to get up. When I lose someone or something, I learn how strong the heart can be. When I laugh, I learn how beautiful the present moment is. I think life is not about having all the answers, but about feeling all the feelings, going through the different seasons, and still standing in the end.

I also believe existence is not just for us. We am here to add something to the world, even if it’s small. Maybe our words will comfort someone. Maybe our story will help someone feel seen. Maybe our presence alone will bring peace to someone’s storm. We all want to live in a way that leaves a good mark behind, I just feel one need to be kind, be real, and be willing to care.

So when I think of the purpose of existence, I see it as a mix of many things, faith, love, growth, pain, healing, and the impact one leave on others. One may not have everything figured out, but believe we are on a journey. Every day is a new chance to learn more about who we are, why we're here, and how we can live a life that matters, even in the smallest ways. And that, to me, is what makes life worth living.
