Legacy and it's impact

How do I make a positive and lasting legacy?

Reflecting on my personal life and the life of my family, I was wondering what actually made my parents recognized in my society, I was wondering what made them well respected in the community, my mind went to my parents achievement, knowing very well, that I have many achieved people in my society, then I began to understand that it was the legacy the place in the life of the community through kindness, generosity and compassion
I now began to wonder what it truly means to leave a lasting impact on the world, is it the accomplishment, we achieve, the people we touch or the memories we create

When I was a child, there was something I learnt from my parents though not directly through them buh through the community, it was not something I noticed early as child, cause at first I thought it was in human to have a kind and generous life and also to behave that way, buh as I grow up, I began to see what those kindness and Generosity of my parents has done to our lives, I began to see the impacts it has in our lives through our community and how valued and respected my parents are in the community

I remember so well when I grow a little bit older, people would often approach me sharing stories of how my parents had helped them in different aspects, their selflessness and kindness had left a lasting legacy, one that inspire and uplift others

I thought about my life, wondering what kind of legacy I wanted to leave, did I want to be remembered for my accomplishments, my wealth or my status, or did I want to be remembered for the positive impact I had on others, for the love and kindness I shared with the world?

As those questions sink into me, I realized that leaving a lasting legacy isn't just about achieving greatness, it's about living a life of purpose, compassion and kindness.
It's about touching the lives of others, making a positive impact and leaving the world a better place than when we entered it

I thought about the people who had made a lasting impact on my life, my teachers, mentors, friends and family members. They had all left their mark on me, shaping me into the person I am today, then the question is, have I place any impact in people's life?

I came to realize that leaving a lasting legacy isn't something we do at the end of our lives, it's something we do everyday, through every action, every decision we take, our interactions and many others.
It's a choice we make to live a life of purpose, to make positive impact, and to leave the world a better place.

The whole thought left me worried, I knew I wanted to leave a legacy of love, kindness and compassion. I wanted to be remembered for the positive impact I had on otherwise, for the memories created.
I've made a commitment to myself to live each day with intention, inorder to make a positive impact on those around me.
