Join me to sew a gown🤭

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog
I made a gown for a friend and decided to share it with you guys
So, she gave me this Ankara to make a guy for her, she didn't have any style in mind though but after so many hesitation we decided to go on this particular corset gown
I hate to sew corset cause of how stressful it is, but it's something some people really like to wear,
So I got my necessary stuff, the linen, the baby lace, my bonny, my bra cup, dull face, etc
I started with the skirt of the gown, I folded my Ankara into two, I inserted my normal measurements, I divided her waist into four and added two inches allowances, I did Same to the hip but coming towards the kneel line, I went up with four inches from the kneel, cos it was a mermaid gown and I didn't want it to tight her around the kneel, and extended my measurements from the above kneel to the length of the gown, I extended it with about 20 inches, it's not a fixed measurements though, you can put any measurements based on how you want it
I did same to the back, but the difference was that I included my zipper allowance, I didn't get to snap pictures cause it was actually a night work
I finished the skirt part and the upper part was left, which I made the next day, I use the lace and dull face for the upper part,
I used the dull face to cut which I later trace the lace on top
I folded my material into two, at the end of the folded material, I minus half an inch and plaste my cup then trace, after which I minus half inch inside the traced cup measurement,
Then I inserted my main measurements which gave me what I wanted

(I used pen in tracing it that's why it's not too clear in the picture?

For the back, I divided it into two also, since it was a normal back cutting, I out my main measurements as usual which includes the armhole line, the burst point, the under burst and the half length

I went ahead to trace my lace on the material as I said earlier, them I sew the top, first, I was to use a different material in putting the line of the bonny which I did,
Before I went by attaching my cup to the dress
After which I inserted my bonny

I did same thing to the back if the dress, I sew the back as it should be, attach the yoke to it, and iron

I cut my straight hand with a flay at the end of the hand to make it look busy

At long last, I was able to come to the finishing end, this is what the dress look like,

(How I attached it to the skirt with the v line cut)

(This is before inserting my eyelet to the dress)

And here comes my end result

Funny how from your explanation it feels like I can sew a dress myself. But I'm very sure the moment I even start cutting my mistakes will start. The dress is really nice, you did a good work. Nice one. I wish you the very best in your business 🙏

You shouldn't hate sewing corset as this is really neat and perfect the only challenge with sewing corsets is that it takes a whole lot of time and effort, you did well with this and it fits her well. Thanks for sharing.
