Good day to my needlework fam and welcome once more to my blog, today I'd be sharing with you a step by step way on how I made a dress for a client a bubu gown with ashoke at the front and hand

It was a full yard of material, first I used her length measurement to measure the length and I cut out of the wrapper for both the front and back, I was left with not too much material which I used as her head tie

Next, I folded the material into four part differentiating the front and the back from the zipper, the zipper shows that it's different from the back, then the one without zipper for the front.
I used a 4 inches straight for the wideness of the next and 8 inches for the deepness of the front while 2 inches for the back
For the shoulder to the length of the hand I used 12 inches as the length for her, exactly where she wanted the hand to stop for her, plus, there would be additional length from the ashoke
I did same for the wideness, I put at about 11 inches on fold for her making it a total of 22 inches with sewing allowance

After which I inserted her burst measurement, the hip and added allowance for her for ease, and the sewing allowance, then I cut

Next I went ahead to cut, l separated the front from the back and cut each of them according to the neck measurement I used in tracing

After I was done, it was a gown with no linen, so instead of using bias for the neck,I cut pieces of the fabric and used it just for the neck of the dress to make it look neat and fine, I did same to the front

After that, I folded my ashoke into two, place it at the neck, and trace it just the way I wanted it to start and stop in a v line shape

Next, I was done, I sew the ashoke according to the way I cut it, and press

For the hand, I measured the length and cut the ashoke according to the length and the way I wanted it wide, then I sew it through too

I went ahead to fix the zip, after I was done, fix the ashoke on the dress, aim the dress, shape it and iron,
And my gown is complete,
Here's my final result
