Why I Now Prefer Balanced Food Over Junk

Everyone who knows me well knows that I used to love junk food. For a long time, I was always on the junk food team, It was what I craved, what I looked forward to, and what made me happy after a long day.
Balanced food? That just sounded boring. Rice with vegetables, yam and sauce, fruits and water? That's not too exciting at all, that’s what I thought.
But lately, something changed.

I started to understand that what I eat affects how I feel. While I still enjoy tasty snacks and fast food once in a while, I noticed that meals with more variety, like those with vegetables, proteins, and whole foods gave me more energy and helped me stay active throughout the day. I began to see that people around me who often ate balanced meals looked more refreshed and energetic. They weren’t just eating to fill their stomachs they were eating to stay healthy and feel good. That inspired me to start paying more attention to what I eat. Bit by bit, I found myself enjoying balanced meals more, and now I can proudly say they’ve become my favorite.

Balanced meals are not just good for your body they taste good too, especially when made the right way. I enjoy eating things like rice with vegetables and fish, yam and egg sauce, and many others. These meals give me strength, and I don’t feel heavy or lazy afterward. My body feels better, my skin is clearer, and I just feel healthier overall.

Balanced food gives your body everything it needs, energy from carbohydrates like rice and yam, strength from proteins like eggs, fish, and meat, and important nutrients from vegetables and fruits. Even the oils used in cooking, when used in small amounts, help your body stay active and fresh.

Now don’t get me wrong, junk food still tastes great, and I might enjoy it once in a while. But I’ve learned not to depend on it all the time. It’s okay to enjoy those things occasionally, but eating them every day isn’t good for my health. I want to grow strong, feel energetic, and live long and eating balanced food helps me work toward that.
Getting used to balanced food hasn't been easy at first, But once I saw the difference it made in my body and how I felt, it became easier. It’s now part of my lifestyle. I even look forward to a plate of colorful food rice with veggies, perfectly cooked chicken, and maybe a slice of fruit afterward. It’s not boring anymore. It’s delicious and satisfying in a different, better way.

I believe eating well is one of the best ways to take care of yourself. Food is more than just what fills your stomach, it fuels your life.
I’m happy to now be on the healthy team, and I don’t plan on going back.
