Love Chant: Pre- Valentine’s Through a Teacher Single Mom’s Lens
Hello, wonderful readers! Thanks for dropping by to my safe space. Grab a cup of any drinks and let’s dive into my random story today.

I’m Geneveve and this is my first time to celebrate Valentines as a single mother. Even though it sounds melancholic, I’m choosing to view it as a magnificent momentum that love isn’t lost but just redirected. Inspired by Catriona Gray’s answer in Miss Universe, “finding beauty and to look for silver lining”, I prompt myself to perceive hope and takes a tremendous amount of strength in every moment.

When I woke up today, my daughter greeted me with hugs and kisses, and surprised me with my favorite donuts and flower for Valentines. It instantly filled my heart with a warmth I can hardly express. Seeing her eyes beamed with excitement for making me feel special reminded me of the purest kind of love. Then I realized, that sometimes the happy ending is just a mom and her kid. I hope she feels whole and cherished, knowing that the heart of a family is built on love, not by completeness.

Yesterday, Friday, our officers in SSLG held a Pre-Valentine themed activities that brought an exuberant atmosphere in the campus. I never expected to receive anything from my students, given my reputation as a strict teacher. Then in the afternoon, after my final period, one of my usually quiet and aloof students approached and presented a single flower and wished me a “Happy Valentine’s Day.” I may insist on focus and discipline in class, but I also notice and appreciate moments like this.

A few minutes after I had received a single flower from one of my students, another student timidly approached me, holding a delicate bouquet of fuzzy flowers. I felt an earnest sense of warmth and respect, touched not only by the gesture but also by the probity behind it.

Later on, another student approached me once more and She handed me a small box of chocolates. I felt a mix of surprise. I couldn’t help but smile, grateful for the unexpected sweetness from my students whom I teach with dedication despite the challenges they occasionally present.

At the end of the day, after my last period, I settled into my mini office in my classroom. I poured myself a cup of coffee in my favorite “kuromi” mug as I focused on completing several forms related to my work. The warmth of the coffee made my long day completed.

Valentines day is a celebration with different forms of love. As for myself, it’s like a revolution of a woman takes a unique route of love. As one of my Love Chant or empowering affirmation through a teacher single mom’s lens, I choose to transform what could have been a story of loss into one of hope, resilience and strength.

To my readers, I hope my words sparks a moment of connection for you today. Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to share your thoughts! Until next time, happy reading!

Happy ♥️ day teach! So sweet students of yours. Have a nice day ahead.
Happy Valentine's Day! You're a strong woman. Never mind those men who just want a temporary companion, not a lifetime partner. Sometimes, choosing to be legally single is better and has lots of perks. Being single allows us to explore our interests, passions, and dreams without distractions.
As for your end, you have your child with you. She's such a sweet kid, truly a blessing. 😇
