"Xavi's Trial: Navigating Turbulence in Barcelona's Journey to Success"

Source

It has been a rocky week in the Barcelona camp after the match against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final which Barca lost 4-1 to their arch-rivals. There have been many takes on the match by some Barca fans and most people thought it could be the end of Xavi's managing career at Barcelona as it should be the better chance for the board to sack Xavi and get a new manager into the club but that has not happened as the Barcelona president Laporta has said the board still support Xavi and are backing him 100 per cent.

Deco who is the sporting director of FC Barcelona was asked about Xavi's future at the club and his response was the same as Laporta's which is good news for Xavi but for the Barca fans that won't Xavi sacked it was not good news to their ears. The problem with some Barca fans is that they are not patient and will use any mistake made by even the players and chant for them to be out of the club. It's the same case with Raphinha as Barca fans want him to be sold for not performing at the higher level they want from the Brazilians when in fact Raphinha has put up a decent performance.

Just take a look at Anthony in Manchester United, his performance last year was horrible. Anthony scored only a goal throughout 2023 and how much did United purchase the Brazilian from Ajax? A total sum of €100m and I am still wrapping my head around how Manchester United sat down and paid that sum of money to Ajax for Anthony but anyway, that is Manchester United's problem.

It is funny how some Barcelona fans are quick to forget the changes Xavi brought when he became Barcelona's manager. Xavi took the job as manager when the club was financially ruined and was in the 8th place of the league table halfway through the 2021/22 season. Xavi took the job and took a low cut salary just to coach his former club and took Barca from the 8th place on the League table to the 2nd place at the end of the season and he did this on a low budget with loan players.

Xavi went on again in his first full season as a Barcelona manager and won the La Liga title for the first time since Messi left Barcelona and also beat Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final winning their second trophy of the second and I am sure if Barca had beaten Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey last season they would have won three trophies last season. This achievement should not be looked at as a normal thing because we know how Barca struggled before they won the title and even Messi said in a team presentation for Barcelona some seasons ago that we don't know how incredible the team has done over the years to win this title that someday we will know it was not an easy thing to achieve.

Xavi has done a good job. It is not easy for a manager to work with limited resources and I tell you this if Xavi had good funding from the club like the way Pep Guardiola has from Manchester City Xavi would do even better with the team, so let Xavi be cut some slack and give his project time and I am sure result will come soon. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
