Vitor Roque's Barcelona Exit: A Costly Mistake or Inevitable Outcome?

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The past two days have seen the potential move of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, and this morning, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal has been done as both Barcelona and Palmeiras have agreed on a 25 million Euros deal with add-ons, and sale of clause package to seal the deal. When I first saw the price tag Palmeiras were willing to pay for Roque, I was kind of surprised that Barcelona was willing to accept it when they bought Vitor Roque for a fee of 30 million euros with add-ons of about 31 million euros.

It looks like a big loss for Barcelona because I was trying to understand why the club still has not learned from the Dembele, Griezmann and Coutinho transfer deal that happened some years ago, which contributed to the club's financial issues that took over from 2021 to this present day. After seeing reports from another source on the deal, I understood the content of the deal and that it's a fair deal, but I will still not deny the fact that Barcelona buying Roque at first was just a waste of time for it to turn out like this at the end.

Vitor Roque was not given enough chances under Xavi Hernandez and I will blame the former coach for this predicament that happened at the end of Vitor Roque. It is not an easy thing for a player to leave their home and move to another country with a different climate and environment to start their new life. It is bound for the player to start slow before gradually getting the confidence to display their qualities on the pitch. Vitor Roque showed promise at first, but everything started changing as Xavi decided to stop playing the Brazilian, and there were reports that Xavi didn't even communicate with the player, which was bad.

Communication is key to solving any problem. As long as the two parties come out to talk things through, there should be a solution at the end. When Hansi Flick took over as FC Barcelona manager, I was expecting there would be a chance for Vitor Roque at the club, but it didn't go as I hoped as the Brazilian didn't meet the coach's expectations, which made his loan move to Real Betis happen during last summer transfer window. Vitor Roque's time at Betis was average, but Real Betis were reluctant to let him leave as they wanted the player to complete his loan spell at the club.

Real Betis only accepted Vitor Roque's departure as they will get 30% right on Abde for compensation, which doesn't sit well with some Barca fans, but it is already done and sealed between clubs. Vitor Roque has signed a five-year deal with Palmeiras and will leave soon for the club. It is sad to see how Roque's time in Europe has come to an end, and I wish him the best of luck back in Brazil. Hopefully, he gets his confidence back and returns to Europe again. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
