US Congress Exposes USAID: Funding Terrorism or Foreign Aid?
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It has been a crazy day on X and other news outlets on the internet. The US Congress came out today and said USAID funded ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram from the Barack Obama administration to the Biden administration. This shocking news has taken the internet by storm as some individuals could not believe what just came out of Congress, while some are not surprised as they have worn and said countless times that Africa will only move forward if foreign intervention concerning African matters is stopped which I believed even before this news.
The USAID is an American organisation that provides aid to foreign countries in need of support to boost their economy or over supplies to countries suffering from war which is a good thing, and I would be honest American aid has helped some countries when they are used in the right way, but in the current case of USAID, it is just horrible to watch and hear the horrors this organisation has not only done to the middle east but also to the African continent. Boko Haram has been one the toughest terrorist organisations Nigeria has faced since their formation in 2012 during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This organisation caused a lot of deaths and destruction in the northern part of Nigeria. They were even responsible for the kidnapped of the Chibok girls which sparked a lot of controversy on social media that got Kim Kardashian and other top celebrities making a video with the sentence that said “Bring back our girls” to show their support for the kidnapped girls and I remember vividly Michelle Obama also made a video showing supper for the girls which all makes more sense now as it was just a propaganda pushed by the US government under Barack Obama to remove Goodluck Jonathan from the position as president of Nigeria.
The US at that time influenced the 2015 election I remember there were reports that there was heavy involvement from the US government in the election, but the majority of the Nigerian people did not care to put those perspectives together as they were more focused on change because they believed all the propaganda placed out by the APC government and since the APC government took over power from PDP in 2015 the country has gotten worse with many now regretting voting in the APC government.
It has been reported by Congress that millions of dollars of US citizen's taxpayers' money have been used to sponsor this organisation, and what does this organisation do in return for USAID? They let the US have free access to the country's natural resources, plus even the government in power of that country can't do anything since the USAID is the one who technically put them in power. The USAID is not the only one that did this damage alone as both top European countries have been involved as well in the destruction and development of some African countries for years now.
The big question I want to ask is why current US President Donald Trump didn't get to find out this information when he was in office before Joe Biden. He should have uncovered this secret, but anyway, this is a topic for another day. It is a shame that the majority of African leaders are not ready to elevate their countries without foreign interference, and I just hope this changes soon for the good of many upcoming generations of African people.
