Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It's day 13 of the Mayininleo initiative, and the topic for today is a little bit tricky, but I will do my best to give my view on the topic for today. So, without further delay, let's get started. There are different types of board games such as chess, scrabble, monopoly, checkers, and many others. It is no surprise that all these games have something in common, which is to devise a strategy against your opponent to win the game.

Another similar feature all these games have is that they need a player who can properly think without getting distracted. I have happened to play two or three of the games mentioned above, and without proper concentration, believe me, you won't last five minutes on the board. Some people may call it psychological warfare between two or more players, all with the same goal to outsmart their opponent and win the game. The board also tells how strong an individual is mentally and also tells how the individual came to make decisions in critical stages.

There is a saying that the first move in a board game can reveal the strategies of the opponent in that first move, but I think the first move of a player can also be the most important move that can put the opponent in a tight position and I picked this up from the war in Ukraine which is still going on today. Russia felt threatened when Ukraine decided to join NATO, which caused Putin to start a war with Ukraine as he thought that it was a plan from NATO and its allies to spy on the Russian Federation.

The war strategy by Russia has put a hold on the NATO alliance because the last time I checked the news about NATO welcoming Ukraine into the alliance was that they would hold that for some time and focus on helping Ukraine with relief materials. Creating strategies on board games and in war is very important to ensure the victory of the player. One common strategy that always happens in war is cutting off the supply of food and any form of help outside to make the other opponent vulnerable in the war because, without food and proper supply, the opponent will be weak and forced to surrender.

This exact strategy worked in the Nigerian Civil War as the Nigerian army cut off supplies going to the Biafra army and the former proclaimed Biafra country. It caused malnutrition and salvation across the Biafra land, and this was one of the reasons the Biafra army surrendered to the Nigerian army. The ultimate goal to win is creating a strategy that counters the opponent's moves and it also gives a foresight to the move your opponent will make in trying to counter your move, like I said before it is psychological warfare and only the strongest minds can stand it all at the end.
