Pedri Is Out Of This World

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Last week was packed with incredible features in the Champions League and domestic league competition. FC Barcelona had a great week as they were able to bag their first three points of the Champions League and also were able to grab all three points against a tough team, which is Getafe, in the La Liga fixture this weekend. The match against Newcastle United on Thursday was an interesting game, and I would like to give my favourite highlight, which was watching Pedri play for the whole 90 minutes.

What more can I say about this talented midfielder that I haven't said before in this community? Pedri is out of this world and as I have said before, no midfielder is currently on par with Pedri. The Spanish player is miles ahead of any midfielder in this modern era of football which English fans witnessed on Thursday and confessed that Pedri is indeed a certified baller. Newcastle United fans on X even admitted what they saw in St James Park on Thursday night and gave Pedri the accolade he truly deserved.

Newcastle United came with the heavy forces of their midfield and attack to put pressure on Barcelona. They started the first 10 minutes of the match pressing hard on Barcelona, looking for a mistake, and when I saw these tactics from the Megpies, I couldn't help but laugh because deep down I knew it wouldn't last long. After all, it was Barcelona they were playing and Barcelona has one of the best midfield lineups in the world. Burno Guimaraes, Tonali and Joelinton thought they would outplay Barcelona's midfield with their pressure, but Pedri showed levels on the pitch.

The pressure didn't get to the Spanish midfielder as he played his way out of Newcastle's midfield. It didn't take long before Barcelona controlled the game and Newcastle United had to start defending as Barcelona were creating more chances to get a goal. The interesting part from all this is that before the match I was seeing threads on X about how St James Park will be unplayable for Barcelona and the Newcastle midfielders will swallow Pedri, but it was the reserves in that match on Thursday. Pedri was just unplayable for Newcastle players as he caused a lot of problems, and I will also give Frenkie De Jong his probs because he was on a crazy run in that match.

Frenkie De Jong only misplaced one pass in the whole 90 minutes of that match which means he had a 99% passing accuracy against Newcastle United. The match also made one thing clear, which is that Barcelona has improved and learnt from their last mistake in the Champions League against Inter Milan last season. Newcastle United scored a goal in the last 90 minutes, and an extra seven minutes were added to the match. Throughout the six minutes of that remaining time, it was like Pedir just said Hold my beer and watch me go in those six minutes as he held on to the ball and controlled the game.

Newcastle United tried putting pressure but it was no good until they had to foul Pedri. In the last minute of extra time, Marc Casado committed a tactical foul, and I could not help but just laugh because everyone remembers the last-minute goal against Inter Milan, and Casado was not about to let it happen again. Overall, it was the best match I have watched this season from Barcelona, and I have to say this could be Barcelona's year of winning the Champions League if they keep up this performance. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
