Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Marcus Rashford joined FC Barcelona during the summer window last year on loan from Manchester United, and truth be told, everyone knew Rashford was not Barcelona's first choice during the transfer window. He was initially the third option since negotiations with Nico Williams did not go as planned. FC Barcelona was adamant to pay over 70 million euros to Liverpool last summer for Luis Diaz, who has been impressive for Bayern Munich this season.

Marcus Rashford was a last-minute resort, but Hansi Flick was interested in bringing Rashford to the club, and Rashford was patiently waiting for Barcelona to make the move happen, as he already accepted all conditions to join the club. In the loan deal, Manchester included a buy option clause worth 30 million euros, which is an obligation from Barcelona to buy or pay a certain fee if the Catalan club decides not to purchase Rashford after his loan spell at Barcelona this season.

There have been different takes on the possibility of Rashford being bought permanently from Manchester United in the coming summer window this year. The stats are out there to prove that Rashford is having a solid season at Barcelona, and it would have been better if he had taken some of his chances in front of goal, but notwithstanding, Rashford has been good for Barcelona this season. Now, Barcelona has made the move to purchase Rashford and is in talks with Manchester United, but here is the thing: Barcelona are negotiating for a fee less than the 30 million euros which was put into the loan deal last year.

The sporting director, Deco, is leading the negotiation talks for Barcelona to seal the deal ahead of the summer window. Manchester United, on the other hand, are not willing to reduce the 30 million euros in the club to club talks. There have been some rumours that Barcelona wants to sell Rashford quickly once they can secure a deal with Manchester United, and honestly, if this is true, then it is the wrong thing for the club to do to Rashford. It is a speculation, which is why I am not paying much attention to it, as there has been a lot of fake news flying around on this deal.

Barcelona's purchase of 30 million euros for Rashford is a good deal in my books. I understand Barcelona are looking for a suitable price because of the FFP rules with La Liga so that they can register the Englishman next season. There is still a lot of time to make this deal happen, and I am impressed with how fast Barcelona has begun negotiations in all their signings since the start of January, with young players going to the B team and would probably integrate into the senior team next season. The story is far from over so I'd like to see how things will shape up in the coming weeks surrounding the negotiation of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona next summer.
