Messi's Legacy: Why the GOAT Debate is Over

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. So, I have said I won't engage in the Messi and Ronaldo GOAT debate because, to me, the facts that are out there completely solidify Messi as the GOAT. Messi has always been the best, and even though a certain fanbase still doesn't want to come to terms with this fact, then, they can continue to go on ranting about how everything Messi has accomplished in his career was gifted to him because that seems to be their new form of argument these days on social media.

Lionel Messi completed football in 2022 when he won the World Cup trophy with Argentina. It was an amazing night for every individual who loves football and also a bitter night for the fanbase who have kept on saying Messi's road to winning the World Cup was rigid as they believed he was favored by FIFA, which sounds absurd. It was not rigged when Argentina lost their first match in their group stage against Saudi Arabia, but when Argentina started winning and performing well then, it turned rigged.

It has become a normal thing for the same fanbase to downplay every achievement Messi has accomplished in his career even as far as downplaying the Ballon d'Or ceremony because it didn't fit into their agenda when Messi won his 8th Ballon d'Or award which is the highest accomplished by one player in the history of the Ballon d'Or ceremony. This is why wherever I see a tweet criticizing Messi's achievement, I just don't bother to engage in it because no matter how I explain or bring out facts, it still won't enter into the brains of the other fanbase. After all, they don't won't accept the facts laid out.

Lionel Messi made history last week with Inter Miami by being the most decorated player in football history to win 46 trophies in his career for both club and country. It has just been an incredible ride for Messi since he won the Copa America in 2021, then went up to win the World Cup and banged another Copa America title this year. Messi is getting a better ending to his football career, and the Argentine is just playing football for fun now because he doesn't have any weight on his shoulders anymore or has anything to prove to the world.

It has been an incredible run seeing Messi about to end his career this way because he deserves it with all the work he puts out on the pitch to make sure his team wins is incredible to watch each time. Since Messi won the World Cup, I am less worried about what the other fanbase thinks, and this would be the last time I write concerning the GOAT debate because I feel there is no need to drag this conversation out anymore since the stats are out there for whoever needs clarity to find the answer.
