Messi Uncertain About Participating In The FIFA World Cup Next Year
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It's been a while since I have written about Lionel Messi, the best football player on the planet and arguably the best in history. Still, some people will disagree with this statement. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has been my favourite footballer for more than 12 years now, and I am glad I chose the right goat because it was worth it every step of the way till he claimed the trophy he has longed for throughout his career, which is the FIFA World Cup. It's been three years since Messi won the World Cup, but I still remember it like yesterday to this day.
It was one of the biggest moments as a Messi fan and I will never forget that memory for years to come because it was special. On the subject of Messi and the World Cup the Argentine has talked about the possibility of him not playing at the next World Cup which is scheduled to happen next year as he doubts his body will allow him to participate in the competition as he feels he is getting old and reaching that point where he will hang up his boots forever. This will eventually happen because Messi is not getting any younger, and it is his body, so if it gives him signs he needs to stop, then he has to listen.
Watching Messi playing for Argentina in this international break and what he is still doing at Inter Miami, you would argue that the Argentine still has it in him to perform in the World Cup because he still plays high-level football and still looks sharp with the ball. In my opinion, from watching Messi play, I will say he can still play football for three more seasons and can still perform at the highest level of competition in Europe. Messi has not yet made the final decision not to play for Argentina in the World Cup next year, but the signs have been slowly showing up over the past few days.
The emotions he was feeling when he played at home in Argentina were one major sign as he was tearing up before the match, and he also had his three boys with him during the lineup before the match against Venezuela. The Argentina national team will have to start thinking ahead on how they will play without Messi to compete in the upcoming World Cup and I am sure the Argentina FA will be trying their best to convince Messi to feature in the next World Cup with the country. There is still a lot of time for Messi to make his decision, and I won't be surprised if he decides to sit out the coming competition.
There won't be any pressure on Messi to win the World Cup next year if he decides to play, and it won't matter that much to any Messi supporters if Argentina doesn't win or get kicked out early from the competition, because he has already won the trophy for his country. Messi has done his best for his country, and any decision he makes, he will get 100 per cent support from the Argentina FA and his teammates. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
