Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The Premier League looks already decided after Liverpool's win against Manchester City yesterday in matchday 27 of the EPL. There is no doubt that Manchester City is having a bad season since Rodri picked up an ACL injury in the early first half of the season. Manchester City has not been the same since then as they have hit rock bottom in all competitions. This year's edition to the Champions League saw Manchester City getting knocked out of the competition in the playoff round by Real Madrid.

At the end of last year, I still predicted that Manchester City would win the league, and we can't ride City off because they have made this comeback to win the league twice in seven years. Today, my opinion has changed, as I don't see the boys in blue lifting the EPL title at the end of the season. Manchester City are far from winning the league, and I will say their focus should be on finishing in the top four at the end of the season. Manchester City may go trophyless this season if they don't buckle up as they have a shot at winning the FA Cup, which is the only major competition for the men in blues.

There are two views by some football fans and pundits about the cause of Manchester City's decline this season. Others pick Rodri absent from the team, while others say Pep Guardiola is clueless this season. In my opinion, it's the absence of Rodri that has made this team lose function, which is the truth. Pep Guardiola has emphasized a lot about how Rodri has been important to his team since last season, if many people can still remember. Rodri's work at the midfield is just absolutely incredible because in Rodri, you can get a holding midfielder, box-to-box midfielder, and even a progressive midfielder on the pitch at the same time.

Rodri's work rate on the field is incredible, which is why he won the 2024 Ballon d'Or award ahead of Vinicius, which still pains Real Madrid supporters to this day. Since Rodri's absence, Manchester City has been unable to feel that void in his absence and even Kovaciç, who I expected to cover Rodri's role on the pitch, was not able to do that, which is one of the reasons Pep Guardiola went for Nico González in the January transfer window. Nico González is gradually integrating into the team, and if possible, soon, we will see the best of him under Pep Guardiola Manchester City.

Manchester City could still close the gap, but their recent performance head-to-head against the top big six of the EPL has been horrible, so I doubt they can turn this title chase around this season. Liverpool is already at the promise land, and it is incredible that Slot is on his way to winning the EPLins his very first season as Liverpool manager, which for me is all thanks to Klopp, who has already made this team before Slot's arrival this season. So guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day.
