Loss At Anfield

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It was a crazy rollercoaster between Liverpool and Manchester United this evening in the Premier League. Before the match began, I was certain Liverpool was going to pick up the win over Manchester United, as we all know how the Red Devils have been struggling for the past seasons, and who can forget the 7-0 defeat that broke the internet two seasons ago, which Liverpool still celebrates to this day.

Liverpool started the season strongly, but so far, before the International break, they have been struggling in the Premier League and the Champions League competition. Honestly, I thought it was just a minor relapse, but it clearly shows that Liverpool is not performing well this season. The Reds' 2-1 defeat to Manchester United this evening confirms that Arne Slot's side is not as formidable as many thought they were going to be at the start of the season. There is a crack in that Liverpool squad because the way they have been playing these past few weeks has not been good enough for a club that spent a lot in the summer window.

Liverpool got the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and many more players last summer, but it looks like the squad is average. Florian Wirtz has become a shadow of himself in Liverpool this season as he has gone ten games now without scoring or assisting a goal, and it's not something we expect from a player with his profile. It is already making headlines that a 150 million euros has been underperforming for Liverpool since he joined and I am not surprised because it was bound to happen from the moment Bayern Leverkusen put that 150 million price tag on Wirtz.

Alexander Isak seems off as well since joining Liverpool, and I am sure Newcastle United fans are enjoying every bit of Isak's poor run with the Liverpool jersey. The defeat against Manchester United should be a wake-up call for Arne Slot and the team to get their heads back in the game if they want to retain their Premier League title this season. Liverpool has a lot of quality players and a good squad depth so I don't see any excuse Arne Slot wants to have because the board has done their part to enforce the team, and now it is up to him to make it work.

Liverpool's next match will be away to Frankfurt in the Champions League this coming Wednesday. They have to give a positive response after this defeat in the league. Despite Liverpool's bad form, I still think they won't go trophyless at the end of the season, and I am sure once Arne Slot gets his team in sync, there won't be stopping Liverpool this season. On the other hand, the win is huge for Manchester United, and Amorim's job won't be on the line as I am sure the INEOS will still want him after this positive result at Anfield. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
