Joan Garcia To FC Barcelona Almost Complete
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. So yesterday I wrote about how FC Barcelona is already exploring bringing in a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window for next season. The goalkeeper on the top of Barcelona lost is Joan Garcia who is currently playing for Espanyol, but could leave this summer as Barcelona are going to trigger his release clause if the Catalan goalkeeper agrees on personal terms with the club. As of yesterday, there was not much update on the situation between Barcelona and Joan Garcia's camp, but today, they have a positive feeling that the deal will get done soon.
Joan Garcia has been sceptical about joining FC Barcelona as the club's initial plan was to sign the Catalan goalkeeper and then loan him out of the club to accommodate Ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny, who is likely to give the green light soon to Barcelona one year contract extension. According to reports, the reason why the negation feels almost done is that Joan Garcia has been promised minutes on the field as the offer of loaning him out of the club is over. The Catalan goalkeeper doesn't want to be loaned if he is signing for FC Barcelona, which is understandable. After all, he has been the main goalkeeper for Espanyol so coming into the club just to be loaned is not an option he wants at this point of his career.
Deco, who is very much the front-runner in making this deal happen with Hansi Flick, has assured Joan Garcia that he will get minutes at the club next season. Now the big question is, where does this put Marc Andre Ter Stegen in the club? The hashtag Terstegnout has been trending around top-stop media, as I reported yesterday, and now there are reports that the German goalkeeper is not happy with what he is seeing, but even with the camp for him to leave the club, he will not leave the club. Ter Stegen camp has also told the German media that their client is not thinking of leaving the club as he is under contract and the captain of the club.
This is what is going to happen from my point of view. It has already been reported that Joan Garcia will be the number one goalkeeper next season so either Ter Stegen agrees to leave this summer by getting sold or stay in the team and become the second goalkeeper of the team which kind will be a bad look as he is getting demoted from the role he has been carrying for over ten years. It may not seem cool, but it is the best decision the club has made so far in bringing in a young goalkeeper into the team because if Barcelona want to win titles and compete in the biggest stages of the UCL, they have to get a new and good goalkeeper.
It is going to be a long summer, and I am interested to see how Deco and Hansi Flick will sort the situation in the dressing room that will be coming up once the Joan Garcia deal gets finalised. So, guy, that will be all for now. There will be more updates on Joan Garcia, which I will share until he has given the green light to FC Barcelona. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
