Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. So today I want to do a little review of FC Barcelona's first match against Mallorca on Saturday evening. FC Barcelona kicked off the new season with a win over Mallorca away from home as the Catalan side won by three goals and conceded no goals. It was a good start to the season for the boys as the three points were in the bag, but there was something that everyone noticed in the match, even Hansi Flick talked about it in the post-match press conference.

The players dropped the intensity of the match after Mallorca picked up two red cards. It was like the players were not trying at all to dominate the match again and there were moments Mallorca put pressure on the defence for a team with 9 men on the field which should not have happened because Barcelona had more men on the field and looking at the midfield Barcelona has the team should have controlled the rest of the match to the very end.

These are the little things that matter that could be crucial going forward into the season. The team can't afford to lose intensity in any match, and last season in the Champions League proved this point as Barcelona lost to Inter Milan in the semifinals. Hansi Flick, in the press conference, pointed out this noticeable issue and said he was not happy with the team and will discuss it with the players to change their mentality going forward into the season.

The fact that Hansi Flick, in his words, said this just proves that he wants the team to play better and improve in each match. Hopefully, the players get the message from Hansi Flick and improve in the next match, but aside from this little detail noticed in the match, the players still looked sharp, and I am sure they will give more this season. Lamine Yamal was on a different run in that match as the youngster is still moving wide like last season. The youngster scored an incredible goal and provided an assist in the match against Mallorca.

Lamine Yamal's performance was outstanding and he won the man of the match award. This kid still has it, and I say this, we are going to be seeing another level of Lamine Yamal this season with the number 10 jersey. FC Barcelona will be playing away from home against Levante this coming Saturday away from home. I am looking forward to seeing Rashford start that match if Hansi Flick gives the Englishman the opportunity this weekend.

Rashford has what it takes to succeed at Barcelona and I want to see him put his all in this season, then hopefully Barcelona push for a permanent move for the Englishman next summer which I still think is a 50-50 chance, but there is still time so that topic will be for later. So guys this is where I say goodbye. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
