Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The transfer window is finally over after a long summer. It was a good summer for some clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City. It was not all that good for Newcastle United as they were on the edge with the Alexander Isak situation which has now come to an end as the Swedish striker has completed his move to Liverpool for a record fee of 134 million euros in the Premier League.

The transfer window closing is good news for Hansi Flick and his team as Fermin Lopez's exit from the club to Chelsea is now considered over. This has been the news for over two weeks now on the possibility of Fermin Lopez leaving Barcelona this summer for clubs outside the Spanish league. There were many clubs making inquiries about Fermin Lopez's situation, but the frontrunner was Chelsea as the English club was in active talks with the player's agent.

The main goal for Chelsea was to sign Xavi Simon this summer, but that deal fell through as Tottenham hijacked the transfer and paid the fee requested by RB Leipzig for Xavi this summer. The Dutchman has already completed his medical with the club and will be wearing the number 7, which was worn by my Son during his time at Tottenham. Xavi's deal falling off made Chelsea turn to pushing for Fermin Lopez, and even rumours spread about Chelsea making a 50 million bid for Fermin Lopez.

Barcelona were not willing to sell as they didn't want Fermin to leave the club this summer. The only thing that could change that stance is if Fermin Lopez requests to leave the club, then Barcelona will start to listen to offers and will only accept 90 million euros for the midfielder. Hansi Flick, in a pre-match press conference for the Rayo Vallecano game this past weekend, said he has spoken to Fermin Lopez and is confident that the Spanish midfielder will stay and can't wait for the transfer window to end.

Hansi Flick's words were accurate as Fermin Lopez is staying at the club. The midfielder got game time in Barcelona's 1-1 draw away from home against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Fermin is a good addition to the team, and it would have been a bad call to sell him this summer, knowing the level of matches Barcelona is going to be playing this season in different competitions, as that squad depth will be needed this season.

The Fermin story can now be considered over with the closure of the transfer window, but we don't know what awaits in the coming months and this story could reactivate in the January transfer window. Hansi Flick will be giving the Spanish midfielder more playing time this season and I just hope he will take the chances he gets to help the team this season as he did last season. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
