FC Barcelona Monitoring Fisnik Asllani As A Potential Replacement For Lewandowski Next Season
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The talk about a new striker in Barcelona has not made the headlines yet, as the season is still fresh, but I am sure it will be a trending topic towards the end of the season. In the summer transfer window, I remembered writing about how the top promising strikers were getting off the market as top clubs sought to purchase these strikers before the beginning of the ongoing football season.
Players like Benjamin Sesko, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyökeres were making headlines last summer, and all eventually moved to a new club. Barcelona didn't pursue a striker last summer, as it was not the club's main plan. Lewandowski still had a year in his contract and the club was unbothered about signing a new striker. It was clear at the start of this season that Lewandowski would be playing his last season at the club as his contract would run out at the end of the season, and there was no sign that the club would be entering talks to renew the contract.
Lewandowski's time at Barcelona for the past three-plus years has been astonishing as he has scored over 100 goals in the course of this year. The Polish striker was top-notch, but his form began to drop after the FIFA 2022 World Cup and since then he has not been the same sharp shooter as he was when he joined the club, but still, he has been able to put up a performance during his time at the club and most importantly won titles. There is still a possibility that Barcelona may renew Lewandowski's contract, so that shouldn't be ruled out as the club's stance may change, and I am sure the Polish striker will happily put his signature on a new contract.
Now, new rumours are spreading about Barcelona keeping an eye on Fisnik Asllani, who currently plays for Hoffenheim, as the player has a written release clause which Barcelona could trigger in the summer window next year. The 23-year-old Hoffenheim striker seems to have got the attention of the Catalan club, but no approaches have been made yet, and it's just monitoring, nothing more from the club side as their stance can change at any moment. I have seen some clips of Fisnik Asllani playing, and honestly, he is a decent player, but I am not convinced yet that he is the perfect long-term replacement for Lewandowski.
The truth is, Barcelona has to get a new striker next season, because it will be bad if Ferran Torres is the only striker Hansi Flick has to rely on next season, and there are already reports suggesting that it could be the outcome, which I hope won't be the case next season. There will be other prominent names aside from Fisnik Asllani, as time goes on, it is left for Deco and Hansi Flick to make the right decision for the future of the club. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
