FC Barcelona Goalkeeper Saga

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. I made a post about a week ago, if I am correct, about how it's time to change the goalkeeper position for FC Barcelona. Last season, we saw Ter Stegen missing half of the season because of a knee injury he picked up last year. Still, the German goalkeeper returned to action this month with the club, and he was not looking like there was any improvement with the German goalkeeper at the goalpost. Ter Stegen has been FC Barcelona's goalkeeper for over 11 years at the club, and during his time, Barcelona has only managed to win one Champions League title.

Wojciech Szczesny proved to be a saver when he joined the club in the January transfer window from retirement. I never believed he would put up a good performance for Barcelona because I doubted his ability to perform at the highest level in all competitions, but he turned out just fine. The initial plans for Wojciech Szczesny to stay at the club from January to the end of the season this May, but things have taken a new turn as the board were satisfied with his performance in the last four months, even though I am impressed with the Polish goalkeeper's performance.

The Polish goalkeeper has been given a one-year contract at the club, and everything depends on the decision of Szczesny to stay for one more year or return back to his retirement. There are good feelings that Szczesny will accept the offer, but nothing has been decided yet by the Polish goalkeeper, so for now will wait until the decision is made. The main content of this post now leads to the talks of Barcelona signing a new goalkeeper over the summer transfer window. The name Joan Garcia has been popping up all around social media and top sports media over the past two weeks now as there is concrete interest in the Spanish/Catalonia goalkeeper.

There are reports that within the club it is already known that getting a young goalkeeper who is also good is Important as they now see that Ter Stegen's quality at the goalpost is not what is needed in the long run for the club. There has been a campaign with the hashtag Terstegnout, and popular Spanish media are now covering the story. FC Barcelona initially plans to sign Joan Garcia and send him on loan because since Szczesny might be staying and Ter Stegen is still in the picture, it will be impossible to have all of them in the club next season, plus the very FFP rule.

Joan Garcia has yet to access FC Barcelona's offer, and there are reports that he set his eyes outside Spain, but it's nothing concrete yet. Barcelona would be pushing to sign Joan Garcia, and if it doesn't happen, the club will still look to sign another goalkeeper, as it has been reviewed by a reliable source that Barcelona's main target this summer is in the LW and GK positions. I just hope Deco can try to convince Joan Garcia to sign for the club this summer. It will be an incredible addition to the team as Joan Garcia is an excellent goalkeeper.

The summer is still long and more updates will come soon on the goalkeeper saga situation in Barcelona. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
