FC Barcelona Beat Real Betis 4-2 Away From Home

Source

Last night FC Barcelona faced Real Betis away from home in match day 21 of Laliga Santander. Before the match, Xavi was in the headlines of every sports news outlet and even on the popular news outlet in Spain MARCA. The Barcelona coach has received a lot of criticism this season but the Barcelona board has confirmed that they are with Xavi and are fully in support of Xavi's project because if we are being honest Xavi has done a good job since he joined the club and if not for referees decisions in past games Barcelona should be levelled on point with Real Madrid and Girona.

The match against Real Betis was a must win and if you check both teams ' head to head stats you will see Barca has always had the upper hand against Betis, but I was still worried about the match because Real Betis has not lost a match at home this season in all competitions so it was a bit worrying that Barca could lose the match or draw which was not what the team needs as Barca needs to keep on winning matches to close down the gab of the league table to have a chance of defending their league title this season.

Barcelona played incredibly well in the first half and I enjoyed the movement of the ball from the players and every time Barca was with the ball they were calm and looked dangerous in front of the goal. Barcelona opened the scoreline in the 21st minute of the first half from a beautiful play by Gundogan who found Pedri and the Spanish international laid off a pass to Ferran Torres who easily played the ball into the goal post.

Barcelona scored the second goal of the match in the second half. Ferran Torres again found the back of the post after a beautiful play made by Lamine Yamal who delivered an outstanding performance in the match against Real Betis. Real Betis dragged their way back to the match as Isco scored two incredible goals in the space of three minutes and for a second I thought it was done for Barca and they had learnt nothing from their past mistakes but this time it was different because Xavi did not waste time and took action immediately by removing Lewandoski who had little impact in the match and put Vitor Roque.

Joao Felix was also subbed in and the game changed as Barcelona became more threatening in front goal. Barcelona scored their third goal in the 90th minute from an incredibly trivial shot from Joao Felix the Portuguese star is having a good run in Barcelona and I hope the club can keep him in the future. Barcelona was not done yet as in the 90+2 minutes Ferran Torres scored his third goal of the match sealing the game for Barca.

Ferran Torres has now become the first player since Messi left Barca in 2021 to score a hat-trick. It was an incredible game for the boys and this time I commend Xavi for making the tactical change quickly which saw Barcelona win the game. The focus now is this Wednesday against Athletic Club in the quarter-final of the Copa Del Rey. It going to be a tough match but I have high hopes the boys will win the game. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
