"Empowerment Through Family Businesses: A Personal Perspective"
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. I have been away from the Aprilininleo task due to my exams, but now I am done with them and back to continue the prompt for the month. The topic for today is quite interesting, and I will narrow it down with my perspective, so without further delay, let's get started. Empowerment is not a new word to many of us, and each of us in one way or the other has been empowered, for example, Hive has empowered many of us here in the south world countries with a means to make a living for ourselves.
Some of us here have been powered by people to gain an education in university and some have been empowered by people or the government to start up a business of their own to make a living for themselves and their families, even loans given out by microfinance banks or commercial agencies is a form of Empowerment because it happened. After all, a person in an institution offers help to push you to start up or push you to achieve that particular thing at that moment.
What makes me feel powerful is the passion my mum puts into her business. My mum is a hairstylist and she has been doing it for the past 10 years or so, but it has never crossed her mind to give up even when the business was not moving in the direction she hoped it would be in the long run, but still, she stands strong and push forward and this is one thing that gives me strength because seeing her zeal makes me feel powerful and has placed that sense of relentless drive to achieve what I set my mind to do.
Support is one thing every individual needs, and the one that counts most is the support of family members. I have always tried to give my support to my mum and tell her the truth if she is doing things the wrong way. There are a lot of family businesses out there that are doing incredibly well because of the support given by members of the family and why some businesses support from outside the family space. It's important to support a family business no matter how it is set up. Some could be individuals outside the family and why others involve the whole family collectively to make it work.
It's no rocket science that before any business succeeds, it will need the collective effort of more than one individual to make it possible. Family business makes generational wealth if the work is put in, which is important. This generational wealth could last forever if the generation in front continues in the footsteps of their predecessors to keep the business alive. I believe that with a collective understanding and openness to any business that involves the whole family who is actively participating, then it is bound to succeed no matter the challenges that may come up front.
So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day.
