Barcelona's Champions League Triumph: A Hard-Fought 3-2 Victory Over Dortmund
Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. What a night it has been this midweek in the Uefa Champions League. There has never been a doubt that it is the Champions League night, and expect incredible football to be played. Yesterday, FC Barcelona played away from home against Dortmund in Matchday six of the UEFA Champions League campaign season. It was a big test for both sides, especially Barcelona as they faced a side that has not lost at home since 2021 in all competitions.
FC Barcelona had to make a statement last night because the team has not been that good in league matches, but somehow are doing well in Champions League games, and honestly, it just feels like Hansi and the boys are prioritizing Champions League competition over the Laliga Santander season campaign. Barcelona went into the match with a high mentality to secure the crucial three points away from home which they did succeed in doing as they beat Dortmund 3-2 away from home.
There are still problems with Barcelona's defense, and although the offside trap has been working for the team, other teams have seemed to find a loophole that has caused the team to keep conceding goals, and it happens anytime Barcelona gets the lead, which has been fostering to watch. Hansi Flick needs to solve this problem and to be frank, Araujo needs to come back into the team, sure Araujo can be a bit clumsy and make some bad calls, but he is more voracious in defense and can be a handful for strikers to handle at times.
Ronald Araujo is fit and was included in the squad against Dortmund, but didn't play any minute in the match. Araujo would likely feature in this weekend's fixture when Barcelona takes on Leganes in Laliga. Now, back to the match, it is safe to say that Raphinha's impact this season is unmatched because the Brazilian had been scoring back-to-back in the Champions League and both in Laliga. Raphinha is arguably one of the best players in the world right now and there is no doubt about it because each match he shows it on the pitch.
Lamine Yamal once again showed that he is a pure gem, and now the youngest is spamming trivela passes each game. Yamal's playmaking ability is just top-notch, and the quality of his passes is just amazing to watch. It is just becoming a normal thing that each match just expects a big moment from Lamine Yamal and the young lad will pull something off at any little chance he gets. A quick reminder that Lamine Yamal is just seventeen years of age and we are already seeing pure greatness from this kid.
Ferran Torres was astonishing yesterday as he scored two goals when he came off the bench. It is no news that Ferran Torres is just better from the bench than starting a game and I prefer Hansi Flick to keep bringing the Spanish forward from the bench when he sees Lewandoski is not performing well on the pitch. It has to be said, and it's the truth, that Barcelona's victory yesterday was all on Ferran because if he hadn't taken those two chances he had in front of the goal, then Barcelona would have probably drawn that match yesterday.
It was a big victory for the boys as they moved to second place on the Champions League table with 15 points, and I think if Barcelona wins their next Champions League match, they will secure their place in the top eight of the league table. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by have a good day.
