Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! - Using Conclave Arcana Set in Tournament

My guild in MOON, Lux Aeterna hosted another private Splinterlands tournament. I was allowed to join even if I was not a member in the Splinterlands guild. All cards that we used were provided in the tournament. This time only Rebellion and Conclave Arcana sets were used. This tournament is a good opportunity to play with fully levelled Conclave Arcana cards and I'm grateful to Lux Aeterna for allowing me to join. I won five games out of eleven for fifth place and was rewarded with 20 SPS.

I have memorable battles in the tournament and I'll show two of my best battles in today's post. One of my wins was against the tournament champion, Losgemanos the Scorcher.

Battle rules only allow us to use four mana units and below. Another rule is Melee Mayhem where melee units are allowed to attack from any position. I chose mostly Conclave Arcana units with two Rebellion cards in the mix.

My archon was Fithe Bladestone, a dwarf archon that buffs his units with +2 armor and dwarves with an another buff of Void skill.

I made a mistake in my tank. I used Mana Warden who buffs the unit in front of him with armor but he can't do so since I put him in as a tank. Surely, not the best placement for him. Any other place is better than a tank for this unit in this game.

Ferrous Brewer is the same race as the archon so gets the racial buff. He does great damage and has Relentless Strike and True Strike skills. The enemy cannot avoid his attacks.

Night Stalker does a lot of damage and has Execute and Blast skills. These are both very deadly offensive skills.

Taye Loreswift the namesake of a famous singer has Inspire and buffs melee units with +1 attack.

Portly Canonneer also has Inspire. This buff is important in this battle where I have a lot of melee units. With Portly and Taylor on my team, they both buff melee units with a total of +2.

Blazebeard Merc does five melee damage without buffs and has Piercing and Bloodlust skills. I should have had this unit in the tank position with Mana Warden behind him.

My strategy was more on the side of offense with two units having Inspire while my enemy was more defensive. He has a healer tank and a dwarf who also heals.

Round 1 My mana warden was the first one to die but I retaliated and killed the enemy tank.

Round 2 One of my units was lost but I killed three of the enemy units. My Night Stalker doing a fine job killing enemies with Blast and Execute. We go into round 3 with four units versus the enemy with only two units left.

Round 3 The remaining enemy units were killed and I won the game. With the game ending quickly, my offensive strategy was proven to work.

The next game was Thorns ruleset so I used almost ranged and magic cards. My cards were three Rebellion and three Conclave Arcana units.

Elias Max Pruitt was the archon. He gives a shield and +1 melee attack. He is a tactics archon which means I can choose some skills to give to some units before the start of the game. In this game I had piercing and armored strike given to my tank.

Commander Slade was my tank. I just remembered that Thorns doesn't affect him so I had him in the tank duties. My opponent chose a better tank, Mantaroth. His shield skill also deflects thorns damage.

Arcane Skinwalker was the rare promo card. He does 3 magic attack and has Silence skill. I thought Silence will be a useful skill in this game because we will choose either magic or range units.

Warborn Shaman a legendary card who does a lot of magic attack and has many useful skills like impede, poison and heal.

Zargrul is a legendary Orc. Among his skills are taunt and bloodline tribute. Bloodline tribute will buff a similar race like Warborn Shaman when Zargrul dies.

Archamage Yabanius a card in honor of the founder, yabamatt. A good attacker with a lot of skills like Empower, Stun and Relentless strike.

Delya a legendary card with four range attacks and has double strike skill. A very offensive unit.

My enemy has the elf archon who debuffs magic attacks. His units are made up of legendary cards with only the promo card, Arcane Skinwalker not a legendary but whose strength is legendary level.

Round 1 I made the first kill, disposing of the enemy Bellowmancer.
Round 2 The enemy tank died but my Zargrul was also killed. He buffs the Warborn Shaman.
Round 3 The enemy units were killed. We go into round four with five units against the enemy single unit.
Round 4 My advantage was too much. The last enemy unit didn't stand a chance and I won the game.

Once again, I'm grateful to Lux Aeterna Guild and @silentriot for letting me join this private tournament. More than the SPS, the experience of playing the cards at their maximum power is rewarding in itself. I'm looking forward to the next tournament.

Glad to see you are entering tournaments, keep practicing and growing your collection and one day soon you will see yourself among the top place holders there. Also, you are using and adapting to the newest CA edition cards, so you will have an upper hand once you learn about all of them.
