Our culture is worth it / Nuestra cultura vale (eng-esp)
Hello, friends
I've always believed that my identity as a Cuban is a treasure made up of rhythms, flavors, stories, and a resilience that runs through my veins.
But in an increasingly digital world, I wonder: where are our voices, our thoughts, in this vast virtual universe?
They're lost, diluted among the millions of websites and Reels on Instagram or TikTok. It's been doing so for a long time.
I've come to the conviction that it's urgent and necessary to foster cultural diversity, not only on our streets, but also on the blockchain and social media.
First, because showcasing our culture, regardless of the country, means making it known to the world.
Take, for example, the blockchain, with its international reach and decentralized nature. This could be the global platform of the 21st century.
By uploading our music, our digital art, or even recording ancestral traditions, we ensure that a son montuno, a painting by a local artist, or the history of a Havana neighborhood, its food, its slang, transcend physical borders and the algorithms of a few platforms.
It's our opportunity to be seen and heard in our authenticity, without intermediaries diluting our message.

Second, because our culture, whatever it may be, is intrinsically rich and interesting. It's not about competing, but about contributing to the global mosaic.
Blockchain, as a permanent record, allows us to document the complexity of our traditions, the depth of our cuisine, or the evolution of our slang, proving that every cultural detail has incalculable value and a unique history that deserves to be preserved for future generations, not as a relic, but as a living legacy.
And finally, and most profoundly, in this way we give value and its rightful place to our history.
For too long, dominant narratives have told only one side of the story.
By inserting our culture into these new spaces, we not only preserve it, but we assign it tangible value.
We can reclaim our history, placing it on the pedestal it always deserved, ensuring that the world recognizes that our culture is not just folklore, but the essence of a resilient and vibrant people. It is an act of digital sovereignty and a tribute to our ancestors.

Hola, amigas
