Unpopular But Very Interesting Anime: 86 Review And My Opinion

86 is an anime series that, well, many people don't really know, but few people that know it know that it is a peak movie. Although I wasn't initially familiar with it, my friend introduced it to me during a conversation about popular anime series such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. He just told me about this anime. He said, "It is an anime you'll love and if your mind isn't strong enough, you may cry". Normally he's someone who doesn't weep upon the finishing of any movie, but he said he wept a little on this one. Sure, that's true. I also did.

The anime 86 depicts racial conflicts between the true citizens of the Empire and those who are not regarded as such. They were differentiated by the color of their hair and eyes, stating that those with silver hair are true citizens while others with other colors of hair are not; those who aren't considered true citizens are the ones taken to war. The people with colored hair are regarded as the 86, while those with silver hair are regarded as the true citizens.

86 Review

It all started with a war between humans and legions. These wars were fought between a group of autonomous legions against the mechanized robots called jagganurts created by humans. Groups of those jagganurts were monitored by handlers, who oversee the operation. Most of those wars were fought in district 86, which was where those of the 86 lived before. There were hidden truths behind the war to the public that only a few of the population knew. On the surface, it was seen as mechanized robots fighting the legions. But deep down, the mechanized robots were originally controlled by humans (the 86, to be precise). Many groups die in battle every day, and to the population, it will be written as zero casualties.

The group that caught my interest was Squad 1, which consists of Nouzen, also known as "undertaker", and his whole group. In which their operation was controlled by Lena (their handler). These people are a group of veterans, more like experts in the field. They fought countless battles together. The handler was also a silver-haired citizen, but she's different from the others in the sense that she cared for the team, even though, these groups were deprived of all the amenities. She gave them things they needed.

Obviously, this anime has a lot more to it, as I only explained a fraction. It is very interesting.

The anime 86 has a lot of action in it, as we saw some fights between the jagganurts and the autonomous legions' empire, as the legions also have their own generals, but it really talked more about the racial problems. Also, it has some tragic moments, and its graphics is also good showing us the features of what real-world war looks like, like the real guns, weaponry, and the like.

Let me just give you a tip if you've never watched it. It's not a spoiler, though. After finishing the anime, I cried a little, just a little. This movie brought out the emotional feelings in me. Oh, the feeling was different. Trust me. It was fun watching this anime. For those who have never watched it, it was worth watching.

As for season 2, I don't know when they'll release it. For me, season 1 is complete enough. But I don't mind if they release season 2, as long as it can live up to season 1's expectations.
