Frog in the well
This is a story about the modern sci-fi frog. He means business. He does know the story of the frog in the well who was unaware of the goings-on outside of the well. Well, our frog knows just about everything and anything outside of his well and even perhaps out of this planet as well.
Froggie knows even the latest gossip about the Kardashians not that it mattered much to him, anyway.
Here's this about our frog in the well. He is up to date with technology and even hired some tech guys to set up stuff for him inside the well so that he doesn't need to go out looking for flies to eat or for other purposes. He even had an alarm that would go off if a snake or a predatory bird appeared on the scene and fend it off with an electric shock. To be honest, he was like the president of an important country who had state-of-the-art technology to help him live a comfortable life without having to do hard work or wonder about his next meal.
Other frogs, there were others in the well of course were jealous of this one and often wondered what they could do to be like him. They did not have the courage of course as they were all under surveillance cameras, obviously.
In spite of all these comforts, the frog was sad. He had anger issues, he had emotional issues and above all, he had this awful habit of smirking at others who he thought were below him. In reality, he was a very lonely frog. He used to see the other frogs having fun and chatting without a care in the world while he on the other hand had to have six bodyguards beside him always for fear of 'frognapping' or worse.
One day, he thought hard and long. He realized that his life was speeding away and before long, others would try to overpower him and even kill him for the money. He decided to sneak off and get away from the well. He was successful in fooling his bodyguards and jumped on the wall of the well. He took one last look and to his horror saw his own bodyguard stabbing the dummy he had kept in his bed while trying to get away. He jumped off the wall and escaped. The bright sky welcomed him. It had just rained and the mud smelled great. The green leaves shone and he felt happy at last. Freedom was greater than anything else in life, he understood and hopped off.
