Rewarding my body with fitness - My Actifit Report Card: April 21 2024

(Edited)

I have set a goal to exercise at least three times a week, making at least 15k steps. this would mean having to reach at least 5K steps a day for three days. Admittedly I have been falling short in achieving that goal during the week. So I have committed to catching up and trying to meet that goal even if it means dedicating some time on the weekend to achieve that. I managed to achieve that goal with about 13415 steps covered through jogging and the remaining were a mix of both errands to shops and house chores. In total, I covered about 17415 steps.

I envy people who are consistent with their goals and have admired Whitneyxx for staying motivated and keeping her fitness in check. I'm also challenged not to fall for the excuse that I'm too busy to keep to my goal during the week as I have seen a lot of people who developed the habit of being persistent in making time to stick to their goal. We are all busy and can get busy but making time to accommodate fitness goals and a healthy lifestyle requires a certain discipline.

I ended up downloading an app to track my distance too so I can monitor my progress factoring in my pace, distance covered and tracking time it takes to run a certain distance. It took me more than an hour to complete 8 km and that is when I realised my fitness had deteriorated. I used to run 10 km in more or less 1 hour but now couldn't even complete it in 90 min.

Fair enough I took stops along the way to take some pictures to compliment the post. And I'm happy with what I could achieve this weekend and I am motivated to see where the new goal takes me. I plan to take it one step at a time, with no pressure but to test my limit with this fitness journey. I plan to participate in fun races this side too as time goes on. Otherwise, tracking my 8 km road was fun and my heart danced to it every time I increased my pace.

I look forward to sharing progress and getting more inspiration in being persistent like those who show up and work towards their goal with no excuse of having a busy life.

Cheers for now!

Did you wear a holster or heart rate monitor? 8km is a decent distance. I have done that in the past but not intentionally. Nowadays I can't anymore, due to heart and health issues.
Keeping busy is also a way to stay fit, even if it's not intentional.

I didn't wear any of those, but it would be good to invest in one for running. I downloaded a free app called MAP Runner founded by LEAP Fitness. It provides detailed data on the activity and has options for setting daily step targets and other fitness goals. For instance, this is the data I got for tracking my running progress this weekend:

Even if it wasn't intentional before, it seems like your past activities have paid off in the long run, possibly helping your body strive with all the diagnoses.🤔

It's unfortunate Jose, that your current heart and health issues restrict you from intense exercises. The good side is that your genetics won't lead you to weight-related health problems, and you're unlikely to face health issues related to being overweight and obese as a result of a lack of fitness routine.🌻

For sure,
There's always loads of excuses waiting to be used by that fellow that's not keeping to her goals.lol🤣

It's to see you exercise. It's better than keeping away from food🤣

Whoever sent you will not succeed. Go tell them she's planing to eat healthy this week and to also finish 10km this coming Saturday. They're already defeated😅

Lol😅
I hope the 'healthy' is really healthy and not junks.

For your walking, jugging and running, kindly make a video. If you can't do that by yourself, hire a video producer to do it for you.
Thank you

I think the tracking app is enough to monitor my progress. I don't need to hire anybody to take a video of me jogging, what's the point for that?

I'm an athletic person (natural mesomorph) and 10 km is the least distance I ever ran in organised races. I have been falling short in keeping fit and that's what this content is about. I know that running 8 km in 90 min is something I can improve on.
