Visit the Old Factory

How are you hive friends, hope you are always happy. Thank you Wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay as manager. Share the experience of visiting an old factory in the Sukabumi area, West Java.

Sukabumi Region has quite extensive plantation land in West Java. One of them is a Gutta percha plantation located close to the processing factory. The Gutta percha processing factory is quite old, it was built in 1885.

I was in the city of Sukabumi driving a vehicle to wards the location of Gutta percha processing factory at a distance of about 30 kilometers, from the main road it was still on a Rocky road about 3 kilometers.

Location of the factory is in Tjipetir or Cipetir village, Cikidang Sukabumi district, west Java. After arriving at the front yard of the factory, there was a plantation administration office building.

The building was quite old, one of them was in the office and I asked can I go into the factory ? They answered, please just meet the factory guard, sir,not long after ward I entered and met the factory guard employee.

Then I was taken to walk around the factory while they explained about the condition of the factory. Gutta percha is the name of a rare tree that can only be found on island of Kalimantan, sumatera the Malay peninsula and around processing factory.

The diameter of the Gutta percha tree is around 60 centimeters and the height is around 35 meters. The Gutta percha tree the leaves are taken which Will be processing in this factory.

After Indonesia became independent, managed by the National plantations, previously managed by Dutch. The area of the Gutta percha plantation is around 288 hectare, there are two main buildings for processing Gutta percha leaves.

I entered the first building, I Saw six Gutta percha leaf grinding wheels, the Gutta percha leaf grinding wheels were imported from Italy at that time. The grinding wheels were Made of genuine granite.

Then process was put into a tub stirrer, there is a boiling vessel, the first building processes semi-finished products. The next process moves to the second building, here the Gutta percha leaves are processed into a grinding machine.

Then the Gutta percha cooking boiler until Gutta percha leaves became rubber blocks, the rubber plates are then sent to ordering,country usually from one ton of Gutta percha leaves produces around 14 kilogram.

Currently the Gutta percha leaf processing factory operates only when there is an order, to run the machines in the factory using a generator. Gutta percha leaves after processing are used to make dentures, medical devices, golf ball coatings, ball coatings.
When I visited, the factory was not grinding Gutta percha.
