Morning Walk in Sukabumi City
Greetings, how are you all friends, I hope you are always happy. Thank you Wednesday walk by @tattoodjay. Sukabumi city is one of the small cities in west Java. Sukabumi city is at an altitude of 584 meters above sea level and the air is quite cool.
The distance from the capital city of jakarta is about 108 kilometers and 97 kilometers to the provincial capital. I tried a morning walk around the city of Sukabumi, I have lived in this city for a long time. The morning walk is about 3 kilometers.

Starting from Siliwangi street- R.Syamsuduin street- Suryakencana street-Perintis kemerdekaan street- Ahmad Yani street and Sudirman street, morning walk starts at 5.45 am. In general Sukabumi used to be a resting place for the Dutch people because there are many plantations in Sukabumi.
So it is not surprising that many old building left by the Dutch are still standing even though they have been renovated. I started my morning walk from Siliwangi street, Sukabumi city I Saw a highway that was still quite, I Saw commercial building in the form of shops lined up.
There were also several hotels that were quite good to serve local and out-of town guests. Luxurious houses were seen on the side of the road, then mini fuel filling facilities, and there is an old building left over from the Dutch which fuctions as an office.
Siliwangi road junction, I turned right to meet R.Syamsudin road, on this road, I first Saw one of the famous University building in Sukabumi city. Before the building was used for a University, this building was once used for a district Government office complex LED by the regent.
And at that time the district Government complex was located in Sukabumi city, around the year 2000, the center of government moved to the capital city of Palabuhanratu about 60 kilometers from Sukabumi city. The walk continued and about 350 meters from the university location.
The steps stopped in front of City Hall, an old Dutch heritage building with a Neoclassical and tropical style that is still sturdy and still functions as the office of the mayor of Sukabumi. In front of the city hall there is a public area, around R.Syamsudin street there are restaurant and cafe, vertical gardens, places of worship.
Suryakencana road intersection, suryakencana road looks still quite with few vehicles passing by, one of the church building is quite old. Continued the road and find a monument in the middle of the intersection, on top of the monument there is a Kalpataru plaque as an award for one of the cleanest cities.
Merdeka field which was revitalization several years ago, is palace for sports for the people Sukabumi and it's surroundings a place for resident to socialize.
North of Merdeka square, historic building was used to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia at that time, the name of the building is Gedung Juang 45.
Walk a little down and Will see the building of Sukabumi city grand Mosque looks sturdy, which was rebuilt a few years ago with modern architecture and using local cultural ornament. Not far from the mosque an old Church building was built in the Colonial era.
picture taken in the courtyard of the mosque
Ahmad Yani street and Sudirman street,is the main road and is located on the city acis of course there are many commercial, trade and banking buildings on this road. Such as shopping centers that are still active today.
Capitol plaza building one of the largest shopping centers in Sukabumi city around 1990, inside there are cinemas, hotels, commerce and the peak of the world around 2000 after that until now it has become quite. The Dunia shop on the corner of the street near the Capitol plaza is an old building, it has been closed for several years.
Morning walk ended on Sudirman street or in front of Mandiri bank building, previously passed two bank building close together.
Thank you for reading.
Don't forget to be happy.
