Sometimes in the workplace, I do find many people whom love to showcase their work a little too much. It has become like a place where people think of how to show off rather than doing actual work.

It is very scary to see how much effort being put in on showcasing a tiny piece of work and brag about it than to actually doing the real work.

There are so many instances whereby the amount of time spent on creating a slide for showcase is more than the time spent to do other work which are of urgent and critical timelines. And now, favour will go to those who can brag more than what they do. This is an alarming trend that needs to be looked at. While the era of generative AI could help out with mundane work, some of the critical task still cannot be replaced.

It is important for leaders to examine people as a whole and not just on the "showcased" work.
