The Royal Gardens have been awarded

Today I want to share with you some important news that has come just recently: the Royal Gardens of Venice have been selected by the European Commission among the 30 winning projects for the Cultural Heritage Prize 2023, and surely this is wonderful news.

But have you ever heard of the Royal Gardens of Venice?

I must tell you that it is an enchanting place that offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city of Venice. These gardens are located right near Piazza San Marco and, thanks to the recent restoration completed in 2019, they have returned to their ancient splendor.
I have always used them to rest after an intense tour around Venice.

Initially created as private gardens for the official residence of the royal family, by the will of Napoleon Bonaparte, the Royal Gardens were opened to the public in 1816 and are currently managed by the municipality of Venice. After the restoration, they were enriched with vast green lawns, centuries-old trees, and beautiful flower beds, where you can stroll and relax in the shade of the trees.
Let's say it's the only natural spot close to Piazza San Marco!!

For the numerous tourists visiting Venice, the Royal Gardens represent an ideal place for a relaxing break. Therefore, I highly recommend anyone visiting the city of Venice to pay a visit to this fascinating attraction, especially because it is the perfect place to seek shelter from the sun during the hot summer days, like the ones we have now.
