WHEN NETWORK SAYS “NO”

It was another regular day at home, I had plans of staying at home because I had no where to go to and chat with friends online since I had little or nothing else to do except house chores which I already spent my morning attending to. It was on a Thursday afternoon. My plans that day were simple, just stay on the bed and do whatever I like with my phone, either watch a movie, play a game and of course chat but then, the network connection had other plans for me.

At first, everything was going well and I was so unprepared for any network shenanigans but it came and I was restless. I kept moving from one place to another to see if it will be restored back but all my efforts proved futile. I tried changing from one data option to another and it ended up getting worst because it started showing no service. The painful part was, I was in the middle of an important conversation (I mean, it always happens when I’m doing something important, Arrgh!!!). The good part, I have two SIM card and I decided to use the other one and try if it will work and it did. So I made a new subscription on it but then, in less than few minutes, the same thing happened.

I was literally frustrated. I asked my sister if her network was working and she said yes but hers wasn’t so stable either. I remember shouting, and that was because we both make use of the same network provider. The frustration kept getting to me and at that point I decided to just put my phone down and sleep before I lost my mind. After about 30 minutes, I tried again but it still wasn’t working and I switched the SIM cards again and somehow, it worked! I remember I was so happy at that moment because there was almost nothing I could do about it if it didn't work.

Having network issues is one of the worst things that can happen to someone who does most things online. Most times, that ends up making me to have a bad day but the easy way I deal with it is either clean or sleep, hehe. Back at school, it happens often but then, the good part is, my two SIM cards are hardly out at the same time so the switch is most times favorable but I only end up spending more than I should and I can’t remember how many times I have wasted my subscriptions due to this problem but I hardly ever complain about it as long as I don’t go out completely.

I have had that experience quite a few times and almost every time, it is when I needed to be online the most. At that time, it can feel really helpless but like I did, just take some time out and rest because you will only worry and nothing will change until those network providers fix the problem. But the thought of it happening on a day when I need it the most, scares me because I don’t know exactly what I will be needing it for. Anyways, I will just enjoy it for now and hope that if that day ever comes, it will still pass because I know it’s not something I really have control of.

This is my response to the Digi-prompt, feel free to share your experiences with us and also how you were able to manage that situation.

Thank you for reading through. ❤️

You did the best thing when having network issues because if you keep struggling with the network you just might act in annoyance and end up regretting.
