VIRTUAL APOLOGY OR NAY?
Apologizing is now a thing of joke to a lot of persons, making it hard for people to know when someone is being genuinely sorry or just messing around. I have seen people that intentionally offend those around then because they know the worst that can happen is saying sorry. Because of this act alone, most of the times I don’t fancy people saying sorry to me. If you’re sorry all I want is that you won’t repeat such a thing again. As long as you can change from that act, I’m willing to let go of the mistake. But if you keep on making that same mistake over and over, I might find it really hard to overlook.
For this week’s Hivelearners 2nd topic on APOLOGY VIDEOS, we are asked to share our thoughts about apologizing on videos. How effective it is and if there are any better way forward. For someone like me, if I ever make an apology video, it would be a big thing for me and it will go a long way to show how much I’m sorry about what I have done because I’m very shy to the camera even though they come out well sometimes. But for someone who does everything on camera, it might be a different story. These days we see how people make scandalous statements about some top celebrities on the social media and later come to that same camera apologizing for what they’ve done.
Well, I believe not all of them are just for show but then most of them are. When it comes to showing how remorseful you are, it is something that a good actor can easily pull off. They can look genuinely sorry at the front of the camera but the moment they are off the camera, that is when you’ll know if truly they are sorry or just creating a content. Some videos hold weight but for me, that is one of the worst ways to make an apology for something wrong you have done. Except of course you’ve apologized to the person whom you’ve offended and then make a video if what you did was publicly heard, so as to clear the errors in people’s minds.
There are ways to tell if a person is genuine but then, these days we have a lot of drama kings and queens. Trying to know whether they are honest or not is not easy because they might give all the signs that they are honest but their actions says a different thing. But for me, if what they say and their actions are similar, then I’ll say they are honest about their apology but if it says otherwise, then that’s a problem. I can try to tell a person is genuinely sorry if they are consistent with their words and actions. I can also guess if they are genuine by the tone at which they speak and also considering how they have lived too.
If there is any other way to apologize that I think is better, it is that the person should apologize to the person or people he or she has offended first. Just making a video talking to the whole world and saying it is an apology might even be causing more pains to the person that is offended. So, first go and make peace with the person first before considering doing any other thing. If that person forgives you, then you might even find out that making a video might not be necessary and even if it is necessary, you might not be the one going forward to apologize. Someone else might just come out to clear the hair if it is something that will affect how people think towards that person.
Thank you for reading through. ❤️
I wish one of the Korean actors read this, when I saw this prompt, it was his apology case I remembered. He didn't do the right thing by apologising to the public, even though he tried to look remorseful 😏
I like your other way of apologising, video can come after then it will all be clear that you're sorry even if it's possible that you're still pretending lol.
I think I remember that one. The one you guys talked about in the city, right?
Thank you for agreeing with me, mama. 🥰
Yes, that's the one 😏
Yeah. I agree with you. Been consistent with their words is a way to know if they are genuine. To say sorry is one thing and to say it from the heart is another thing.
Thanks for sharing
