THE COMFORT OF CONNECTION

The journey of life is one that if we are truly honest with ourselves, we would have understood by now that we can’t go through it alone. It is a journey that we have to work through it with others whether or not we like it or feel comfortable about it. And for that reason, humans have always and remained social beings. Most times, we put little or no effort into being social, trying to make connections or interact with people and that’s because it just happens naturally. We have somehow just learnt that we can’t go through this all alone and we need someone or people to go through it with us.

Of course, there are times when we it feels like we are going through life all on our own but the truth is, we have never went through life at any point on our own. Why? Well, that’s because no matter what, there is always someone somewhere praying for you and you just don’t know it. Meeting people daily is what we do as humans. There is never a day we don’t interact with humans. Be it our parents, our colleagues or just some random strange. We meet people daily and there is always this need to connect especially when we feel our aura matches with that of the other person.

But in all of this, over time, as humans, we learn to shuffle the kind of people we let into our space because we have come to realize that there is wickedness in the heart of humans and we can’t always have people stick with us forever. Most times they go away, either because of death, relocation, betrayal or some unknown reasons. But then, there is also the other side when we are fortunate to meet some people that we will always feel grateful for and continue to bless the day our path crossed. Usually, these kind of people are met in the least expected places and situations.

Having the right circle. The right people with us in this journey of life is one of our greatest blessings that most times we even take it for granted. Good people are hard to come by but when we meet them, we should always be grateful for them. They are people who are there with us no matter the condition. They always watch our backs and tell us the truth just to make sure we become the best of ourselves. They sometimes even know what we need more than we do and they always make sure they help us achieve our goals and aspirations.

I believe we need these kind of people. People that stay even when things are not so convenient for them. People that value us and always make us feel like we are the best of ourselves. People that always want to see us excel and they never fail to tell us when we are going on the wrong path. They stand by us through the hard times and rejoice with us when everything gets better. We need these kind of people. Without them in our lives, we most times might end up depressed and miserable except we have a good family support.

Life won’t be the same for anyone who loses a good friend. Things will get harder and more complicated for them. Friends are like our guide. They are people that often just keeps us going, who help us bear the burden of our loads with us and make it lighter. Without them, we will go through this journey of life but not as seamless and beautiful as when we have a good friend by our side.
