SURRENDER

It’s over a week since I last shared one of those songs on my playlist. Well, it’s never too late to share one with you. Today, I’m sharing something simple but beautiful. I love this song for everything that it is. The artist, her voice, the song title and the wordings, everything is just beautiful and captivating. Well, you will only appreciate this song if you appreciation a good love story, hehe. I know some persons don’t appreciate the hype about love so this song is not for them, lol.

SURRENDER by Nathalie Taylor is a masterpiece for what it’s worth. It’s a song that sends this message in the most subtle way possible. A message of peace and acceptance in a relationship. Most times we lose that connection in our relationships and we start thinking of what went wrong and when things went wrong but guess what? The simple solution is for you to just stop trying to win and fly your white flag, I mean surrender. Most times, we are so bent on winning all the time, being the only one that is right, never wrong and we forget that we might actually not be the only ones that love winning so much.

When it comes to keeping a good relationship, it will require us to surrender a lot of times just so we don’t lose the ones we love so much all because we want to win or prove a point. All because we know we did nothing wrong. This song is a message to those who value the relationship or relationships they have built over the years. It’s not worth winning if you can actually lose and win that relationship back. Sometimes, we do the most craziness things just to prove a point. I have been there before and most times I learnt the hard way. Keeping our ego aside is most times the only thing we need to keep things going on.

Well, this will only work better when both parties have the same mind. Yes, these misunderstandings will come but then, we should be ready to fall or surrender for each other, that’s the only way it can work out well. You know that kind of thing when you are looking out for someone and that person is busy looking out for you? That is what I’m talking about. If this kind of care and understanding is there, surrendering won’t be so hard because you will be able to see that that issue is not worth losing your close pal to.

So, today I want you to listen to this song again from this perspective and think about it again, whether or not it’s worth losing that person because of what has happened. Would things be a little different if you fly your white flag, surrender? If yes, then go for it and hold that person tight. There is no relationship that is misunderstanding-free. It comes up every now and then but as long as every one is looking out for everyone, things will be fine and that is only possible if you sometimes just surrender.
