PRICE TAGS AND CHOICES

Looking at the question for this first edition in the hivelearners community, the first thing that came to mind about the topic PRICE RANGE was Supermarkets and departmental stores. For the sake of this post, I’ll just focus on just supermarkets. Supermarkets are one of the most organized places to buy things from. Well, not really because it is cheap but because it has a price tag on the things they sell and you see how well most of they do.

For the fact that people already have an idea of the price of a particular item or service, they always prefer going to the supermarket or confidently going to the market to check if the price will be cheaper or still the same or higher. If the price is lower, depending on the type of product or service we are paying for, we might still even prefer to stick to the supermarket because there is just this satisfaction in knowing the price of things and it is left for us to make a choice of what we want to buy.

If we see the price is the same, we feel even safer to stick with the supermarket because most times, they are closer to us than the markets. We confidently buy from them because we know most of the things they sell are of standards and can be trusted to a degree. We can easily hold them accountable when the things we have purchased if they are not up to standards and also, it is way more comfortable and less stressful to buy things in a supermarket. All you have to do is walk to the section where you can find the things you need.

But if the price is higher, this is a big game changer for some. While for some, they will still not mind buying from the supermarket after comparing some other factors. And for the others, they will just put in more efforts to always go to the market to get the things they need rather than going to the supermarket so they can save cost. Seeing these different cases that I have tried to paint, you can see that the price range of goods is more of a importance when the prices vary, although it is a good thing sometimes like in the case when the price is lesser in the market and higher in the supermarket and we are left to make a choice.

But sadly, there are people that are not good at pricing. They treat every place they buy something from as a supermarket. Once they are told the price of a good or service, they don’t care to price it down or look for other alternatives and because of things like this, some sellers have gotten really greedy. But if there we all know that there is a general price range for different products, it will be easier to know when a seller is trying to be greedy and then we know when to walk away in search of another place to patronize.

But then, one thing that is undeniable about pricing is that most of these shops are located in places that they lack competitions and they know they are on high demand. This alone gives them this advantage to price goods higher than normal. And it might not be completely due to greed and that is why having an approved government price range on goods after considering some of these things will go a long way in keeping her citizens secure from exploitation.

It doesn’t have to be a fixed price. But having a range will go a long way in curbing the need for more profits by some businesses. For those who are more of manufacturers, they are in better positions to dictate the prices of their products because they know what they have spent and how much they ought to earn. But for others who sell their products, putting a price range is a very good idea. If anyone needs to benefit more it should be the manufacturers because they are the ones truly taking care of the nation’s need.

Thank you for reading through. 💜

That's just what we need. Sellers have a price range at which they sell their goods.

Some people when they see that they are the only one in a particular area and there's no one selling what they're selling they get greedy to add to the actual price because they know that we don't have any choice but to buy it, which is very bad. And have seen some people going to the supermarket than going to the market because they see that the price they sell things in supermarkets is more lesser than market.

It’s really an helpless situation for those who don’t have people selling in a particular area because they are mostly exploited.

Thanks for stopping by.

Having price ranges for products is really important because of extortion. People are so dubious to the extent that they might want to sell at a double price to their customers.

That price range is necessary. It helps guide both sellers and buyers not to be cheated or run on losses respe
