Being in a place of comfort is everything we strive for but then, the more we strive towards it, the more we realize that we can’t eat our cakes and have it. Most of the situations we encounter in life, especially those ones that propel us to a new level, are situations that requires us to leave our comfort behind us and press forward. It is actually a thing of comfort most times when we hold on to the past. It is way easier dwelling on the things that have happened. The things we have achieved and lost rather than letting go of the thoughts and pressing on.
For the indiaunited contest prompt for this week, we are employed to share our thoughts on the topic, LEAVING COMFORT BEHIND. Personally, I have been in different situations when I was compelled to chose discomfort because I know seeking comfort at those times won’t give me the true result I needed. As humans, we have to learn to leave behind what is past and just keep pressing on to what is ahead of us. Just holding continuously to things just because it is easy won’t give us what we want. We have to let go of our comfort and embrace challenges because it is in those challenges we are made strong.
I believe there is time for everything. There is a time to get comfort and a time to be uncomfortable. I have come to accept that things are mostly hard when I’m close to achieving something good. So anytime I’m tempted to choose my comfort, I’m reminded that the challenge I’m going through is only temporary and it will be over soon. Having the thought in mind, navigating through discomfort, though hard, has come to be a part of me. It gets hard, but since it’s not breaking me, it only means it’s making me and in the end, I’ll be just fine.
Leaving comfort behind is going to happen anyways but it is best that you are at least getting yourself prepared for the worst while expecting and working towards the best. Don’t let yourself be caught by surprise. Don’t expect too much and don’t settle for too little. Like I said, press on. Move onto the next level, not counting your other successes or failures. Just make sure you are taking one step in front of another.

Whether we like it all not, we cannot remain in one spot forever just because it gives us comfort. We just have to prepare ourselves and face it, afterall discomfort doesn't last forver
