GET RICH QUICK? NOT AT ALL

Telling someone about hive, I thought was supposed to be so easy but then everytime I try to tell someone about hive, I just get reserved again because of the fear that I might end up making hive sound to them like a get rich quick platform. It's not as if hive is not rewarding but then I do know that it requires a lot of work and dedication and if anyone is not ready to give that much to the blockchain, then it might be really hard to even get a single reward from it.

I've had several cases when people will ask me what I was so focused doing on my phone and when I'll tell them I'm a content creator, their reaction will always be like "wow, so you can write, what do you write about?" And so many other relating questions until they finally ask me about where I write and how I earn from it. Most times, I'm the one who goes to them to tell them about hive because I know they have a lot of potentials that would be welcomed on hive.

There was this one time when a friend of mine asked me about the platform I post my blogs on, without even waiting for me to answer, he asked me to join affiliate marketing instead. That I can write books and sell on Amazon and some other websites. For some reasons he just kept asking me to join since he was also an affiliate marketer. He told me about how much he earns weekly as a marketer so he could convince me to join, but then what I earn on hive was almost twice what he earns weekly.

At that point, I told him that I earn even more just writing and creating contents and those contents are still mine. He was in doubt and I had to show him my wallet to prove it to him. At first he was laughing because he thought I was joking that I earned something like that from just creating contents but when he saw that I was serious, he got interested in knowing more about hive. Well, in long run he couldn't join Hive because he said he hated writing and at that point I tried to show him other things that he could do on Hive outside creating contents.

I tried introducing him to microblogging since that wasn't going to require so much from him but he could at least learn how the blockchain works from there. We later agreed to talk about it some other time when I'd be there to guide him fully since our academic session was almost done. I wasn't able to convince him well and that was on me, I tried to avoid too much responsibilities because what mattered to me most then was my academics.

Well, I remember talking to one of my lecturers about Hive too. She was interested when I told her I was a writer and I earn some rewards from it and that was how I was helping myself in school. I was one of her best students (I don't even know how that happened) and that made her very interested in what I have to say about Hive. In fact, at some point I was the one running away because she was to resilient in knowing how she could join Hive that I had to tell her I'd guide her after our final exams and that was how she could allow me because she wanted me to do well too.

At the end of my exams, I was able to open an account for her, luckily it was a free sign up but unfortunately she needed some more guide for her to proceed in her journey on hive but then our exams were over and I had to go back to my State. She was very excited to start so I'm very sure that if we ever get to meet again I'd be able to guide her so she can start her journey here.

The truth is, onboarding process is not so easy after all because it requires so much from us but then it gets easier when the person is close to you or is very much use to the internet. So far, I've been able to onboard close to 5 people but just one of them is trying in terms of consistency and I'm at least proud of that one, hehe.

There are so many lessons I've learnt and the major one is, that as an onboarder, I have to be ready to give a good answer to anyone that ask of what Hive is because it's what I do most of the time and people are definitely going to be interested. So right now, my major concern is learning of a good way is maybe writing about the easiest way to tell people about hive and how the can join without so much worries.

This is my response to the Hive naija weekly prompt and I'm so glad to be participating in it.

Reading through your blog about the affiliate market I just knew he will not be able to make it just like that because hive is a process that not everyone can flow with.

For the lecturer, am sure she will do well if you can give her some little time and walk her through what to do a step at a time. It's well with our youths because most of them don't like process at all.

I do wish you well

Yeah, he was out for the get rich quick and wasn't ready to give his time to being dedicated and not yet instant rewards.

I will do well to put her through and I'm sure she will do well.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your comment dear

I also did not believe in hive at first but when my onboarder told me that I could earn passive income just by writing in contests and all, I smiled. Guess what, I'm still smiling 😁😁.

Whoever wants to be on the block chain should be ready to be patient and also mingle.

I hope you keep smiling, hehe.

And yes, that's just how it is. If you want to be on hive you have to be fully ready to give your time and effort just like your normal businesses.

Thank you so much for your beautiful contribution 🥰

Smiles... The guy said he earns weekly as an affiliate marketer. Does he write book and sell on Amazon like he advised because I would be so shocked.

Would be really nice to bring up your lecturer but the question is would she have the time for hive?

He's actually more focused on telling people about it and he gets really good referral benefits. But he does know how to market things too and he gets paid too.

Well, she was just so enthusiastic to join, I had the same worries too and that was why I actually still wanted to delay the whole thing but then I think it's fine as long as she comes in once in a while until she learns more.
